Job Summary:

The Senior Applied Epic Business Systems Analyst is the Canadian subject-matter expert of the Applied Epic platform, responsible for ensuring the system is optimized, well-governed, and aligned with Lockton Canada’s business objectives. The role partners closely with Operations, Finance, IT, Compliance, and brokerage teams to strengthen configuration, workflows, data quality, reporting, integrations and user adoption.

This position plays a key role in translating business requirements into scalable system solutions, establishing governance standards, managing platform enhancements and change initiatives, and providing advanced functional support. The incumbent is accountable for maximizing the value of Applied Epic by improving operational efficiency, enabling data-driven decision-making, and supporting consistent, high-quality client service as Lockton Canada continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

Own and administer Applied Epic

  • Serve as Lockton Canada’s primary Applied Epic subject-matter expert and functional platform owner.
  • Administer workflows, activities, templates, custom fields, forms, servicing roles, lookup values, security roles and user access.
  • Coordinate upgrades, defects and enhancements with Applied Systems, internal technology teams and service providers.

Design and improve brokerage workflows

  • Translate business requirements into practical Epic workflows across client setup, placement, policy servicing, renewals, endorsements, billing and commissions.
  • Define activities, ownership, required information, controls and completion standards.
  • Reduce manual workarounds, duplicate entry and inconsistent practices while supporting valid regulatory or business differences.

Protect data quality and system integrity

  • Establish standards for core client, policy, insurer, broker, vendor, producer and servicing data.
  • Monitor completeness, consistency and duplication through validation and exception reporting.
  • Support controlled data remediation, bulk changes, book transfers and account reassignments.

Build reporting and operational insight

  • Develop operational reports, dashboards and exception reporting using Applied Epic and approved reporting tools.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations on premium, billing, receivable, payable and commission reporting and controls.
  • Document report definitions, source fields and business rules so measures are reliable and consistently understood.

Support integrations and system change

  • Provide business expertise for Epic integrations with document management, e-signature, insurer connectivity, analytics, premium finance and other platforms.
  • Lead or support requirements, testing, defect management and implementation readiness.
  • Apply disciplined change control, including impact assessment, approval, testing, documentation and communication.

Train, support and build adoption

  • Provide advanced functional support and identify whether issues arise from configuration, data, process, integration, permissions or training.
  • Create role-based training, SOPs, quick-reference guides, release notes and a searchable knowledge base.
  • Coach colleagues and help build a capable Epic super-user network.

Establish governance and a roadmap

  • Coordinate cross-functional governance for Epic decisions involving Operations, Finance, IT, Compliance and business teams.
  • Maintain a prioritized roadmap of issues, risks and enhancements aligned with Canadian business objectives.
  • Report clearly on platform health, adoption, material risks and delivery progress.

Requirements:

Required

  • 5+ years of Applied Epic experience in a commercial property and casualty brokerage, including administration, implementation, optimization or advanced support.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Epic account and policy structures, activities, workflows, servicing roles, security, templates, reporting, reference data and accounting dependencies.
  • Strong knowledge of the commercial brokerage lifecycle, from prospect and submission through placement, servicing, renewal, billing and commissions.
  • Experience translating business needs into controlled system configurations, reports and repeatable operating procedures.
  • Experience with data quality, troubleshooting, exception reporting, user acceptance testing and change management.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, facilitation and training skills, with the ability to explain system concepts in plain language.
  • A collaborative style and the judgment to establish standards while working effectively with brokerage, Finance, Operations, IT and Compliance colleagues.

Assets

  • Experience supporting a national, multi-office or multi-jurisdictional Canadian brokerage.
  • Applied Epic accounting experience, including agency bill, direct bill, producer commissions or financial reconciliation.
  • Experience with data conversion, book migration, acquisition integration or a major Epic implementation.
  • Experience with Epic integrations and reporting tools such as Power BI, SQL or advanced Excel.
  • A Canadian insurance designation such as CIP, CAIB or CRM, or relevant Applied Epic training.
