Position Summary
The Technical Assistant, Global Risk Solutions provides technical, administrative and transactional support to Account Managers, Brokers and Client Executives in the servicing and placement of complex commercial insurance programs.
The role is responsible for maintaining accurate client and policy information, preparing insurance documentation, supporting submissions and renewals, processing policy transactions, coordinating with insurers and internal teams, and helping ensure client deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account & Broker Support
- Provide day-to-day technical and administrative support to Account Managers, Account Executives, and Brokers.
- Assist the client service team throughout the annual renewal cycle.
- Maintain accurate client, exposure, policy and insurer information within brokerage management systems.
- Coordinate information and documentation required by brokers for marketing and placement.
- Track outstanding items and follow up with insurers and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with new business, renewal and mid-term policy transactions.
- Respond to routine internal and external inquiries, escalating complex coverage or servicing issues to the appropriate team member.
2. Renewal & Market Submission Support
- Assist in gathering exposure information, loss information and other documentation required for renewals.
- Prepare and format insurer submissions for review by the Broker or Account Manager.
- Maintain submission and marketing documentation.
- Assist in tracking insurer responses, outstanding questions and quotation status.
- Update exposure schedules and insurance program information.
- Prepare comparison documents, summaries and reports as directed by the broking team.
- Ensure information provided to insurers is complete, consistent and appropriately documented.
3. Policy & Insurance Documentation
This would be a major component of the Technical Assistant role.
- Review incoming policies, endorsements and other insurer documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Compare policy documentation against binders, quotations and agreed placement terms.
- Identify discrepancies and refer them to the Account Manager or Broker for resolution.

- Evidence of insurance
- Certificates of Insurance
- Policy summaries
- Endorsement requests
- Invoices
- Schedules
- Renewal documentation
- Maintain organized electronic client and policy records.
- Ensure final documentation is accurate before issuance to clients.
4. Premium & Transaction Processing
- Assist with premium processing and invoicing.
- Review premium calculations and allocations for accuracy.
- Process policy changes, endorsements and related transactions.
- Coordinate with accounting teams on outstanding premium or invoicing matters.
- Help resolve discrepancies involving premium, insurer documentation or account information.
- Maintain records of premiums, commissions, fees and taxes as required.
- Support reconciliation and credit-control activities.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance, ideally within an insurance brokerage.
- Understanding of commercial insurance terminology and policy documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative client service environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Ability to learn and work effectively with brokerage management and document-management systems.
Preferred
- Experience supporting large commercial, national or multinational accounts.
- Experience with commercial Property and Casualty insurance.
- Experience preparing or processing certificates, endorsements, policies and insurance binders.
- Exposure to global/multinational insurance programs.
- Familiarity with premium allocation and international policy coordination.
- Previous experience with an insurance brokerage, insurer or commercial underwriting operation.
- CIP coursework or designation considered an asset.
- Appropriate Canadian provincial licensing, or willingness to obtain it, depending on the responsibilities of the position.
- French-English bilingualism could be an asset for a national Canadian role.
