We’re looking for a Human Resources Specialist - Recruitment and Employee Services who is passionate about people, comfortable with technology and using data to make decisions and improve processes, naturally curious and loves to learn, and is energized by solving problems. This is a hands-on HR role where you’ll play an important part in creating an exceptional employee experience. Located in Steinbach, MB, this position is a key contributor and an integral role on our HR team. This position is required on-site to effectively provide support to our internal customers, HR and Leadership Teams.
What You'll Do
- Manage full-cycle recruitment using UKG Pro, partnering with leaders to attract and hire great people.
- Organize and participate in various career fairs on various educational campuses/schools, or on-site at Loewen.
- Use recruitment data and statistics to identify trends and opportunities to improve time-to-fill, candidate accuracy, and hiring processes.
- Coordinate and deliver engaging new hire orientation, presentations, and training.
- Be a trusted HR resource for employees and leaders, responding to questions about recruitment, benefits, disability management, HR processes, and UKG Pro - including the mobile app.
- Prepare accurate HR letters, documentation, and employee records.
- Administer Manitoba apprenticeship programs, including agreements, government submissions, and tracking apprenticeship hours.
- Support disability management and return-to-work coordination, working closely with employees, leaders, benefit providers, and the Return-to-Work Coordinator.
- Administer daily HRIS employee profile updates along with benefit and leave of absence processing and communication.
- Collaborate with other HR team members relating to employee relations matters, general HR questions and immigration related inquires.
- Look for opportunities to simplify, improve, automate, and create better HR processes and employee experiences.
What You'll Bring
- An HR Certificate or university degree focused on Human Resources.
- Experience in recruitment, new hire orientation and training; full-cycle recruitment experience is an asset.
- Experience in disability and/or benefits management, HR administration.
- Strong technology skills and the confidence to learn new systems quickly. UKG Pro experience is an asset.
- A genuine curiosity about business, people, data, statistics, and using information to make better decisions.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Confidence presenting to groups, facilitating orientation, and delivering training.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organization and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
- A creative, solutions-focused mindset - you see possibilities, not just problems.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach and a genuine desire to learn and grow.
- Availability to work on-site from 8:00am to 4:30pm daily, with ability to flex schedule on occasion to support HR and organizational needs between the hours of 7:30am and 6:30pm as needed.
