Original job description

Office & HR Manager

Delta (Tilbury), BC | Full-time | In-office

Bring your ideas. Build our systems. Help our people grow.

Do you love bringing order to a busy business? Does the idea of building out a company's training, policies and HR systems get you excited?

Lore Electric is looking for an Office & HR Manager who wants to take ownership of our office and play a key part in how our business grows. You enjoy working independently, bring fresh ideas and take real pride in seeing them come to life.

About Lore Electric

Lore Electric is a Metro Vancouver electrical contractor specializing in multifamily residential and commercial construction. Our business is built on generations of construction experience, pride in our work and a commitment to coming through for our clients.

We care about our people and helping them get better at what they do. We value honest work, respect and attention to detail. Learning and continuous improvement are central to how we build our business.

Our motto is simple: Learn it. Master it. Optimize it.

The opportunity to build something lasting

A major part of this role is helping build the operating system for our business: the policies, training and everyday processes that connect our people and keep the company moving forward.

You will take the lead in building out our company playbook in Trainual or a similar platform, alongside improving our HR systems. You will turn the knowledge and experience within Lore into clear procedures, useful training and a welcoming onboarding experience. Your work will help employees understand their roles, develop their skills and grow with the company.

We want someone who sees the potential in this and is excited to make it their own. You will have room to explore ideas, put better ways of working into practice and create something you can be proud of. Building these systems is a central part of the role.

Your place on the team

You will report directly to the owner and work closely with our project coordinator and field team. With much of our team's focus on construction projects, you will have the independence to organize your day and take the lead on office and systems improvements.

This suits someone who enjoys focused independent work and also likes getting to know the people they support. You will be an important connection between our office and site teams, helping everyone stay informed and supported.

What you will take ownership of

Business systems and training. Lead the development of our company playbook in Trainual or a similar platform. Build practical policies, procedures, role guides and training with input from the team. Improve our HR workflows and help employees use these systems in their everyday work.

HR and employee support. Coordinate hiring and onboarding, maintain employee records and benefits, and track time off, probation periods and apprenticeship progress. Keep apprentice hours and school dates organized. Prepare timesheets and employee updates for our bookkeeper and help employees access the information they need.

Office and financial administration. Coordinate office supplies, service administration, scheduling and key deadlines. Organize invoice paperwork, billing support, payment follow-up and reimbursements with our project team and bookkeeper. Track permits, licences, insurance renewals and safety documentation, and keep communication flowing between our office and field teams.

This could be the right fit for you

You get satisfaction from making things work better. You enjoy learning how a business operates, spotting opportunities and following an idea through to something the team uses every day. You are comfortable setting priorities and moving work forward independently, while staying connected with the team.

You bring a positive attitude and care about doing the everyday details well. You can write clearly, build good relationships and handle employee information with discretion.

Your experience

We are looking for three or more years of relevant experience in office operations, HR or business administration, including experience improving processes or introducing new systems.

You should be comfortable with employee administration, coordinating payroll information and learning business software. Experience with Trainual or another training or HR platform is an asset. Procore and QuickBooks experience would also be helpful. Construction or trades experience is helpful but not required.

You must be eligible to work in Canada and able to work from our Delta office.

Why join Lore?

You will have the opportunity to make this role your own and see your ideas make a difference across the company. We value learning and want someone who is excited to grow with us.

We offer extended health benefits, flexibility in your schedule around office needs and opportunities for continued learning.

Interested in building our next chapter?
