Job Title: Senior DevOps & Python Platform Engineering Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps & Python Platform Engineering Specialist to design, develop, and support highly available enterprise content management platforms. The role involves hands-on Python development, platform integration, DevOps automation, infrastructure management, and Level 3 production support.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python engineering, Linux/Windows environments, distributed systems, and enterprise platform operations, with the ability to drive reliability, scalability, and modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable content management solutions using Python (primary) and Java (secondary).
- Build automation tools, libraries, and platform integrations.
- Deploy, configure, and support Alfresco ECM platforms in private cloud environments.
- Evaluate SharePoint Embedded and Snowflake solutions through technical assessments and POCs.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across application servers, databases, web servers, and authentication layers.
- Lead technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture documentation.
- Provide Level 3 production support and collaborate with Level 2, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams.
- Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately one week every 4–5 weeks).
- Drive continuous improvements in platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Application Development, or DevOps.
- 5+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
- Working knowledge of Java.
- 5+ years of experience supporting Linux and/or Windows environments.
- Strong experience with shell scripting, automation, and troubleshooting.
- 3+ years of Microsoft SQL Server experience and strong SQL query skills.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and load balancing.
- Experience troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Alfresco ECM platform experience.
- SharePoint Embedded and Snowflake exposure.
- Apache and Tomcat application servers.
- Authentication protocols: Kerberos, Mutual TLS, OAuth/OIDC, and SAML.
- Maven, Gradle, Podman, and Kubernetes.
- CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins.
- Ansible or similar configuration management tools.
- GitHub, GitHub Copilot, and AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GPT, Gemini, or Grok).
- Message queues and event-driven architectures.
- Enterprise architecture documentation (C4 models, ADRs, security architecture, integration diagrams, and data flow diagrams).
Important: Candidates must be local to Montreal and available for hybrid work and mandatory face-to-face interviews.
