Design, develop, and optimize SQL Server databases including stored procedures, queries, views, and data models
Implement application integrations using RESTful APIs and service-based architectures
Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews to contribute to overall code quality and maintainability
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout the full application lifecycle including development, deployment, and production support
Support application releases, upgrades, data migrations, and environment transitions (e.g., on-premises to cloud)
Contribute to solution design, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer activities
Ensure solutions align with security, accessibility (AODA/WCAG), and enterprise architecture standards

Must-Have Requirements

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure services including App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, and Azure DevOps
Strong experience with SQL Server and relational database design, performance tuning, and query optimization
Broad experience across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Proficiency with object-oriented design principles and modern design patterns
Experience with version control, build pipelines, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools
Experience designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting applications
Experience with RESTful services, integration patterns, and secure data exchange

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience developing internet-facing or cloud-native applications
Experience with CI/CD automation and DevOps practices beyond basic pipeline usage
Knowledge of application security, performance optimization, and operational monitoring
Experience providing post-implementation support and resolving production issues
Experience conducting technical design walkthroughs and peer code reviews
Knowledge and understanding of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and WCAG standards
Experience preparing user, system, and technical documentation

Work Environment
