Original job description

LotusFlare is a provider of cloud-native SaaS products. Headquartered in Silicon Valley and founded by the team that helped scale Facebook to over a billion users, our mission is to make affordable mobile communications accessible to everyone on the planet.

We design, build, and continuously evolve a powerful digital commerce and monetisation platform, Digital Network Operator® (DNO™) Cloud, that drives valuable business outcomes for global telecom operators. Today, it is trusted by Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, A1, Globe, Liberty Latin America, MTN, Singtel and others to run strategic businesses that support millions of users globally.

We are also the company behind Nomad (nomadesim.com), one of the world’s leading travel eSIM solutions. Nomad gives travellers fast, affordable mobile data in 200+ destinations worldwide, all through a seamless iOS, Android, or web experience.

LotusFlare’s momentum continues to accelerate. We recently announced a strategic partnership and equity investment from Ericsson, further strengthening our market position and global reach.

If you’re excited by global scale, real-world impact, and solving complex problems in a fast-moving environment, you’ll fit right in.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

At LotusFlare, Senior Backend Engineers are replacing traditional business back ends with an engagement-centric, dynamic product stack. You’ll develop, secure and scale the back-end infrastructure that lets our platform handle millions of concurrent API calls.

As part of our global engineering team, you’ll work on mission-critical, highly available distributed systems, and you’ll be directly responsible On a typical day, you’ll:

Start the day with a quick stand-up with your team.
Own the full software lifecycle: development, testing, code reviews, and running and maintaining your code in production.
Work closely with product and other engineering teams.
Make time to help teammates, whether that’s asking questions or answering them.
Take ownership of the code you write.

Requirement

A BA/BS in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience would be a plus
8+ years designing, building and deploying highly scalable, secure web services in production
We don’t require any particular language. Our stack uses Node.js, Lua and Scala, and we welcome experience in Java, Python, Go, C++ or similar
Strong knowledge of security best practices, performance optimization and fault tolerance
In-depth understanding of distributed-systems concepts such as consistency, fault tolerance and consensus algorithms
Expertise in RESTful API design, including API gateways, API documentation tools and API security
A deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS) and their impact on application performance and security
Strong understanding of concurrency models and their trade-offs, and experience handling concurrency challenges in high-traffic environments
Advanced data modeling skills in both SQL and NoSQL databases
Hands-on experience with a wide range of cloud platforms and technologies, including containers (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless computing and other DevOps tools

Benefits:

Competitive salary package.
Yearly bonus
Training and workshops
Top-of-the-class engineers to learn from and work with

About us:

At LotusFlare, we attract and keep amazing people by offering two key things:
- Purposeful Work: Every team member sees how their efforts make a tangible, positive difference for our customers and partners.
- Growth Opportunities: We provide the chance to develop professionally while mastering cutting-edge practices in cloud-native enterprise software.

From the beginning, our mission has been to simplify technology to create better experiences for customers. DNO Cloud enables communication service providers to innovate freely, reduce operational costs, monetize network assets, engage customers on all digital channels, drive customer acquisition, and increase retention.

With headquarters in Santa Clara, California, and five major offices worldwide, LotusFlare serves Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, A1, Globe Telecom, Liberty Latin America, Singtel, and other leading enterprises around the world.
