About the Opportunity

Our nationally-recognized client in Central Ottawa is looking for a Controller to join their fast-paced, growing organization on a full-time Contract with a potential to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Provide accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner (IFRS mandatory)
• Production of financial statements
• Coordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts
• Variance analysis, ad hoc analysis as needed
• Preparing Month and Year End close for appropriate department
• Ensure compliance to reporting standards, including investor reporting packages
• Institute and maintain internal controls
• Communicating with Senior Management on all Finance-related strategies
• Oversee Accounting team to ensure accuracy and submissions in a timely manner, provide support and mentorship towards the successful development of the Accounting team through thoughtful training and evaluation.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Active CPA Designation
• 5+ years of experience in Accounting & Finance within a similar role for a public company
• Working experience with IFRS
• 3+ years of leadership of an accounting team
• Strong oral, written, and communication skills in English
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Highly organized, strong attention to detail
• Strong time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative

About the Job

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $60.00 to $65.00 hourly, depending on previous relevant experience.
