Who we are

lululemon is a yoga-inspired technical apparel company up to big things. The practice and philosophy of yoga informs our overall purpose to elevate the world through the power of practice. We are proud to be a growing global company with locations all around the world, from Vancouver to Shanghai, and places in between. We owe our success to our innovative product, our emphasis on our stores, our commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we get to make in every community we are in.

About this team

The Global Packaging and Labelling team is responsible for planning, designing, developing, testing, and producing end-to-end packaging and labels. We work in close partnership with cross-functional teams across the business and partners throughout supply chain. We meet the needs of our product, guests, markets and channels in order to achieve our strategic priorities and business goals. We ensure packaging and labelling materials are production ready and support successful product delivery.

A day in the life

The Packaging and Labelling Development team creates end to end packaging and labelling solutions that meet the requirements for our global markets. In partnership with Packaging Design and Operations, the Development team collaborates with vendors, suppliers, and cross functional partners to produce packaging and labelling that complement our product assortment.

Role Description

The Packaging Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and refining packaging solutions that reflect lululemon’s brand standards and sustainability goals. Day-to-day tasks include creating packaging specifications, collaborating with cross-functional partners in product, design, sourcing, and supply chain, and working with vendors to ensure packaging quality, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability. The role also involves testing materials, maintaining documentation, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring packaging meets regulatory and compliance requirements in key markets. This is a contract position based in Vancouver, BC, with a hybrid work arrangement that combines on-site collaboration with some work from home.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in packaging development, including structural design, material selection, and vendor collaboration for consumer products or apparel.
  • Knowledge of packaging engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality standards, with ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of sustainability practices in packaging, such as recyclable materials, waste reduction, and life-cycle considerations.
  • Strong project management skills, including timeline management, prioritization, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with relevant design and documentation tools (e.g., CAD software, Adobe Creative Suite, PLM systems, or similar platforms).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and present concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with multiple concurrent projects.
  • Post-secondary education in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in retail, apparel, or consumer goods industries is an asset; familiarity with North American and international packaging regulations is beneficial.
