  • Review design proposals and give feedback against regulatory, corporate and customer requirements.
  • Support photometric testing with our photometric lab, quality, manufacturing and third-party vendors, and interpret the results.
  • Track new optical technologies, advances in the field and identify how we can apply them to our products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, product management, marketing and operations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Diploma in Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in photometry, optical design and/or 3D modelling
  • Ability to define problems, collect data and interpret technical information in mathematical or diagram form, and present conclusions to management and customers
  • Fluency in English and French, with strong written and oral communication skills considered an asset
  • Experience designing illumination systems with TracePro, LightTools, Zemax, Photopia or ASAP
  • Knowledge of CAD and simulation software such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Pro/Engineer or Autodesk Inventor

COMPETENCIES

  • Own it: Results-oriented; takes initiative and works autonomously to deliver optical designs that meet spec.
  • Hustle with discipline: Organises and manages multiple projects at once and adapts quickly to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Share what works: Presents complex technical data clearly and shares optical know-how across teams and sites.
  • Raise the bar: Brings innovation and creativity to every design to push photometric and beam performance further.
  • Win together: Works well both independently and in team-oriented, cross-functional environments.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work environment: Office-based at our Longueuil site, with regular hands-on work in the photometric lab; flexible hours.
