Role Description The Drywall Finisher will be responsible for preparing and finishing drywall surfaces, including taping, mudding, sanding, and patching for residential and commercial projects. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting and repairing drywall installations, applying joint compound and textures, ensuring smooth and consistent finishes, and collaborating with site supervisors and other trades to meet project specifications. The role involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, using appropriate tools and materials, and following company standards and safety procedures. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo Metropolitan Area, requiring regular travel to job sites within the service region.
Qualifications
- Experience with Framing and Carpentry, with the ability to understand structural layouts and support drywall installation.
- Strong skills in Plastering and Drywall Finishing, including taping, mudding, sanding, and texture application.
- Background in Remodeling and Commercial Construction, with familiarity working on occupied spaces and new builds.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices, including WSIB and site-specific safety requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings or project instructions, and follow specifications accurately.
- Reliable transportation to job sites within the Greater Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo area.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and working on ladders for extended periods.
- Previous experience as a drywall finisher or in a related trade; apprenticeship or trade certification is an asset.
