Job details

Job type: Contract
Apply by: Nov 25, 2026
Experience: Profile with less than 8 years of experience in testing or quality assurance.
Posting language: English
Posted: Oct 26, 2026

Original job description

The role is on the business side of the delivery chain: the analyst certifies what the software vendor and the delivery team provide, at three levels (features, business cases, business processes), all grouped in the UAT. The client notes that the testing is 'very functional,' which rules out a read of a technical QA position despite the quality assurance analyst title. The purpose of the role is decision-making: the recommendation to the PO determines approval for go-live. The form indicates that this position is usually held by Desjardins systems pilots, which means the expected profile is close to business knowledge of insurance systems. The mandate doesn't list any formal requirements beyond seniority (8 years and up): the qualification table is built from the described responsibilities.

Candidate wanted: a UAT analyst with 8+ years of experience, who has designed their own test plans from functional documents and has certified the delivery of a software package or business system up to the production rollout recommendation. Experience in life insurance, ideally in underwriting, directly brings the candidate closer to the system lead profile that the client is replacing.

Requirements

Required:

Test case design based on functional requirements documentation
Execution of functional and user acceptance testing (UAT), validation of results against expected outcomes, and documentation
UAT certification across the three levels: vendor-delivered package functionalities, business cases, and business processes
Defect management: logging, tracking, and retesting after fixes
Collaboration with stakeholders during test execution
Recommendation for approval to the Product Owner (PO) for production deployment

Desired:

Experience in individual insurance / personal insurance (individual insurance, traditional life insurance, critical illness, underwriting)

Profiles to Exclude:

Profile mentioning test automation (scripts, automation frameworks) without demonstrated execution of business acceptance tests.
Profile mentioning technical testing (API, integration, performance) without demonstrated certification of business cases or processes.
Business analyst profile whose experience revolves around writing requirements, without demonstrated design or execution of test plans.
Profile whose UAT experience is limited to executing scenarios provided by a third party, without demonstrated writing of test plans.
Profile with less than 8 years of experience in testing or quality assurance.

More about this job

Responsibilities

Design and execute functional test plans based on requirements documentation, validating vendor-delivered features, business cases, and business processes through UAT. Manage defects and collaborate with stakeholders, then recommend to the Product Owner whether the system is ready for production deployment.

Requirements

Candidates need at least 8 years of testing or quality assurance experience, including independently designing test plans and certifying a software package or business system through a production rollout recommendation. Experience in individual life insurance, particularly underwriting, is desired; the role emphasizes business acceptance testing rather than automation or technical testing.
