Original job description

The client is looking for two senior, versatile project managers focused on business projects in the financial domain, even though the role sits within CLIENT technology entity. The person is the central point for all contributors (sponsor, managers, integrator) and is solely accountable for the project plan, deliverables and reporting to the sponsor and steering committee. The role covers one or several cross-functional projects in parallel, which puts planning and coordinating multiple deliveries on the same level as leading a single project. Experience in a financial institution or a risk management context is required, and knowledge of financing approval risk is listed among the competencies. The pool is narrowed by the combined thresholds: over 10 years, bilingualism and two days per week on site in Lévis; certification differentiates candidates without excluding them.

Target candidate: a bilingual project manager with over 10 years of large-scale business project management, who has owned the plan, budget, schedule and closure of cross-functional projects involving business, IT and external vendor teams. Their background is in a financial institution or a risk management context, ideally with exposure to credit or financing approval, and a PMP, MGP or ACP certification is a plus.

Key Requirements

Management of medium to very large cross-functional projects, from plan to closure
Planning and coordinating multiple large-scale deliveries
Role responsibilities: single project plan, deliverables, functional supervision of internal and external contributors, change and quality control, risk analysis, reporting to sponsor and steering committee
Experience in a risk management context and/or a financial institution

Requirements

DESIRED

Knowledge of financing approval risk
PMP, MGP or ACP certification
Communication, political acumen, mobilizing business, vendor and IT teams, leadership and initiative, working in complex contexts

ASSET

Master's degree or graduate diploma in project management

Profiles to Exclude

▸ Profile whose projects are exclusively technical (infrastructure, application development), with no business sponsor or business objective mentioned.

▸ Profile mentioning project coordination without demonstrated ownership of plan, budget and schedule.

▸ PCO, coordinator or Scrum Master profile presented as a project manager, without delivery carried through to closure.

▸ Profile whose projects involve a single team, with no external contributors or cross-functional scope.

▸ Profile with no demonstrated reporting to a steering committee or decision-making body.

▸ Profile with no experience in a financial institution or a risk management context.
