Original job description

The title suggests a traditional job scheduling profile, but the qualifications describe an infrastructure administration profile equipped with DevOps tooling: AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Git, CI/CD and scripting. The platform in scope is the organization's job orchestrator, a critical platform to operate and evolve, not only to monitor. Modernization stands out in the mandate: driving automation, supporting user teams and contributing to the future vision and architecture. One paradox to note: knowledge of Automic and $Universe, central to the mandate, is listed only as an asset. One position is open, for 6 months.

Target candidate: an enterprise platform administrator who automates infrastructure (Terraform, Ansible, scripting) across Linux, Windows Server and AWS, and who has operated or evolved a critical production platform. Hands-on experience with a job scheduler, Automic or $Universe first, separates two otherwise equivalent profiles.

Requirements

REQUIRED

Systems administration, infrastructure or platform operations in an enterprise environment
Understanding of infrastructure components (operating systems, networks, virtualization, storage, databases)
Linux and Windows Server environments
AWS cloud services
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Terraform or equivalent tool
Automation and configuration management, Ansible or similar tool
Git and source code management principles
CI/CD pipelines
Operation, administration or evolution of critical platforms
DevOps principles and modern operations and automation practices

ASSET

Knowledge of a job orchestration or workload automation platform
Experience with or knowledge of $Universe and Automic

Profiles to Exclude:

Profile whose scheduling experience is limited to monitoring and restarting jobs, with no demonstrated administration or evolution of the platform.
DevOps profile centered on application pipelines, with no demonstrated operation of production infrastructure or platforms.
Profile listing AWS or Terraform through training or certification only, with no delivery in an enterprise environment.
Linux or Windows administration profile with no demonstrated automation (IaC, Ansible or scripting).
Mainframe-only scheduling profile, with no Linux, Windows Server or AWS experience.
