Original job description

MaaS is looking for a freelance Technical Copywriter who can turn complex business, financial, and technology concepts into clear, compelling marketing content.

You’re curious about how businesses work, ask thoughtful questions, and develop messaging that helps audiences understand why a product or service matters. A background in journalism, finance, fintech, technology, or another specialized industry would be especially valuable.

About the opportunity

You’ll collaborate with our strategists and account team to translate client positioning and business objectives into strong messaging and copy. Projects may include brand messaging, websites, landing pages, articles, emails, and campaign content.

What you’ll do

Research clients’ businesses, products, industries, and audiences.
Turn strategic direction into value propositions, messaging frameworks, headlines, taglines, and supporting copy.
Write clear, engaging content that connects complex offerings to customer needs.
Collaborate with strategists and subject matter experts to fill information gaps and verify accuracy.
Adapt your writing to each client’s voice, audience, and communication goals.
Explain your messaging recommendations and incorporate feedback thoughtfully.
Deliver polished work on time and provide realistic project estimates.
Use AI tools responsibly while owning the accuracy, originality, and quality of your work.

What we’re looking for

Experience in copywriting, journalism, editorial content, business communications, or a related field.
A portfolio demonstrating strong writing and the ability to communicate complex topics.
Strong research, editing, and fact-checking skills.
Ability to translate a positioning brief into specific, persuasive messaging.
Comfort writing both concise marketing copy and longer educational content.
Clear communication, dependable follow-through, and confidence asking questions.

Experience that stands out

Business, financial, or technology journalism.
Writing for financial services, fintech, investment management, software, or other technical industries.
Interviewing subject matter experts.
Developing brand messaging, B2B website copy, or campaign concepts.
Supporting multiple clients or brands in an agency environment.
