Our client, is an established manufacturers' representative serving the HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection markets across Alberta and Western Canada.

With a long-standing reputation built on relationships, technical expertise and strong manufacturer partnerships, my client works within the channel to bring quality products and solutions to market through wholesalers, contractors, builders and other industry partners.

The Alberta business has experienced significant growth, and they are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Representative to join the Edmonton team. Reporting directly to the Vice President, this is an opportunity for a proven sales professional to take ownership of an established territory while playing a key role in developing new business and expanding the company's market presence.

The ideal candidate will be a hunter at heart, someone who enjoys opening doors, developing new relationships and creating opportunities, while understanding how manufacturers, representatives, distributors and end users work together within the sales channel.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and grow new business throughout the Edmonton and surrounding Alberta market.
Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, wholesalers, contractors, builders, project managers and end users.
Identify opportunities within existing markets while actively pursuing new customers, projects and channels.
Represent a portfolio of established HVAC manufacturers and bring their products and solutions to market.
Work closely with distribution partners and understand how to effectively influence sales through the reseller channel.
Develop relationships with key decision-makers, including project managers, contractors, engineers, procurement teams, end users and other industry stakeholders.
Conduct customer visits, product presentations and training sessions.
Work with manufacturers and internal partners to identify opportunities, develop solutions and support customers through the sales process.
Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and relationship development through to project development and closing.
Monitor market activity and identify emerging opportunities, competitors and customer needs.
Build a strong presence within the Edmonton market while collaborating with the broader Alberta sales team.
Become a trusted technical and commercial resource for customers and manufacturer partners.

What You Bring

5+ years of progressive sales experience, ideally within HVAC & mechanical manufacturing environment.
Experience selling manufactured products through a reseller/distribution channel is highly valued.
A strong understanding of the relationship between manufacturers, manufacturers' representatives, distributors, contractors and end users.
Proven success in new business development and territory growth - you enjoy prospecting and opening new doors rather than simply managing an existing book of business.
HVAC experience is strongly preferred, particularly candidates who have worked for a manufacturer or manufacturer-side organization.
Strong commercial understanding of how products move through the channel and how to influence multiple stakeholders within a sale.
Technical aptitude and the ability to learn and confidently present product solutions.
Excellent relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills.
A self-directed, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to work independently in a flexible environment.
Strong business acumen and the ability to identify where the next opportunity is coming from.
Valid driver's licence and the ability to travel throughout the territory.
