MacEwan University is seeking Custodians for 2 full-time continuing opportunities with our Custodial Department.

MacEwan University is seeking Custodians for 2 full-time continuing opportunities with our Custodial Department.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors across the university campus.
Key responsibilities include:
- Detailed cleaning of windows, light fixtures, entrance matting, and floors;
- Vacuuming and steam cleaning carpets;
- Disinfecting washrooms, showers and locker rooms;
- Dusting all ledges and waxing floors;
- Re-arranging and lifting furniture;
- Collecting waste and recycling from all areas and disposing of it properly;
- Replacing paper products and sanitizers;
- Reporting all significant incidents to Security Services;
- Removing snow at entrances; and
- Setting up classrooms.
You will have:
- The ability to operate custodial equipment;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- The ability to perform physically demanding work; and
- Proven knowledge of safe chemical handling practices.
- A minimum completion of Grade 10 education.
- WHMIS certification.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with cleaning in a similar type setting.
- A Building Service Worker Certificate is considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus by cleaning floors, windows, carpets, washrooms, and other areas, and by replenishing supplies and disposing of waste and recycling. Move furniture, set up classrooms, remove snow from entrances, and report significant incidents to Security Services.
Requirements
Applicants must have completed at least Grade 10, hold WHMIS certification, and have at least three years of cleaning experience in a similar setting. The ability to operate custodial equipment, communicate effectively, perform physically demanding work, and handle chemicals safely is required; a Building Service Worker Certificate is an asset.
