Madison Pacific Properties Inc. (TSE: MPC, MPC.C) proudly owns, manages and develops high quality commercial real estate assets, including industrial, retail, residential and office space. Established in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1998, Madison Pacific has over 2.0 million square feet of real estate assets in its portfolio in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.

What You Will Be Doing

The Building Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and tenant relations for a portfolio of multi-family apartment buildings, ensuring properties are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with all regulations. They address general repairs and maintenance regularly and coordinate with contractors, and vendors to address more complicated repairs, capital improvements, and preventative maintenance programs. This role also involves monitoring property expenses and fostering positive tenant experiences to maximize occupancy and retention.

Some Of The Main Responsibilities Include

Maintaining a safe environment with proper lighting, signage, and disability access.
Drafting and updating emergency plans and evacuation procedures.
Overseeing security, fire prevention, and other safety systems.
Scheduling and performing regular building maintenance and janitorial services.
Contracting professionals for repairs as needed.
Ensuring that occupants are provided with proper utilities.
Monitoring building maintenance budgets.
Arranging for building improvements.
Overseeing contractors and inspecting completed jobs.
Supervising grounds staff.
Hiring employees or contractors as needed to maintain, repair, or improve the property.
Evaluating contractor performance and providing direction, correction to ensure proper maintenance of the building.
Scheduling contractors and employees.
Resolving complaints, problems, and requests from building tenants.
Assisting with emergency response and evacuations.
Maintaining records of tenants.
Inspecting the building frequently for signs of damage or wear.
Conducting move in and move out inspections with tenants.
Touring prospective tenants through suites.
Maintaining clean common areas of buildings.
Other responsibilities, as required.

What We Need From You

Minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and building codes.
Excellent project management and negotiation skills.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
