UX/UI Designer Intern
Location: Remote
Type: Internship
About magpylabs
magpylabs helps people keep up with the creators, brands, and products they care about by monitoring social media activity across platforms and turning the noise into clear, timely insights. Instead of scrolling endlessly, our users get the updates that actually matter to them.
We're an early-stage team, which means the person in this role won't be designing in a vacuum your work ships, users see it, and you have a real say in where the product goes.
> Please note: This is an unpaid, full-time internship aimed at students and early-career designers who want to build their portfolio, get genuine product design reps, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with a startup team.
What you'll do
Design clean, engaging experiences for our web and mobile apps.
Build wireframes, user flows, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma.
Work directly with the founders and developers to take ideas from sketch to shipped.
Run lightweight user research and turn what you learn into concrete design improvements.
Help shape magpylabs' design system and visual identity from early on.
Iterate on your designs based on real user feedback and usability testing.
What we're looking for
Currently studying UX/UI Design, HCI, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or something related.
Comfortable in Figma, Adobe XD, or a similar tool.
A solid grasp of user-centered design and usability fundamentals.
Clear communicator who's happy collaborating in a fast-moving, figure-it-out-as-we-go environment.
A portfolio coursework, side projects, or client work all count.
What you'll gain
Hands-on experience designing for a real early-stage product.
A genuine voice in product decisions, and the satisfaction of seeing your work go live.
Mentorship and close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Portfolio pieces with actual users behind them.
A reference and recommendation on successful completion of the internship.
If building thoughtful, genuinely useful experiences sounds like your thing and you want startup experience where your work matters we'd love to hear from you.
