About Mainfreight

Mainfreight is a global supply chain and logistics provider founded in New Zealand in 1978. Our services include international air and ocean freight, customs brokerage, warehousing, distribution, and domestic transport.

Our people set us apart. We encourage ownership, teamwork, and a can-do attitude. We invest in teammates who want to build long-term careers with us.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Ocean Import or Export Coordinator to join our Toronto Ocean team in Mississauga. You’ll coordinate international ocean shipments in either directions, from pricing, booking and documentation through customs coordination, delivery, and invoicing.

Our coordinators learn the business from the ground up. Many of our leaders and current sales teammates begun in operations, so we look for people who are curious, take ownership, build strong relationships, and want to keep growing. You don’t need to know today which path you want to take; we want to see your drive and willingness to learn.

What You’ll Do

* Coordinate ocean import/export shipments
* Arrange bookings, pickups, delivery, loading and unloading; monitor vessel schedules and shipment milestones.
* Review and prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, arrival notices, shipping instructions, delivery orders, and customs documents.
* Prepare and submit applicable Canadian import eManifest and export CERS filings accurately and on time.
* Coordinate customs clearance requirements with brokers and other parties.
* Keep customers informed of shipment status and respond promptly to questions by phone and email.
* Maintain accurate shipment information in CargoWise and other systems.
* Prepare customer quotations and develop an understanding of ocean freight pricing and market conditions.
* Complete customer invoicing accurately and within required timelines.
* Resolve delays, documentation discrepancies, and other operational issues.
* Build strong working relationships with customers, overseas offices, carriers, service providers, and teammates.

What We’re Looking For

* Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
* Clear communication and a commitment to excellent customer service.
* Initiative, accountability, and the confidence to solve problems.
* Curiosity about how our customers’ businesses work and how Mainfreight can support them.
* A team-oriented approach and a willingness to share ideas and help others succeed.
* Interest in developing your skills and, over time, exploring opportunities in operations leadership, account management, or sales.
* Post-secondary education in any field.
* Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.

Experience in freight forwarding, ocean operations, customer service, CargoWise, Canadian customs requirements, eManifest, or CERS is an asset.

English/French bilingualism is also an asset.

What Mainfreight Offers

* Competitive salary with performance and salary reviews.
*Daily lunch program.
* Extended health, dental, and vision benefits.
* Employer-paid life insurance and disability coverage.
* Group RRSP with employer contributions.
* Paid vacation, sick days, and personal days.
* Hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities to grow within Mainfreight.
