MaintainX is a leading mobile-first work execution platform for industrial and frontline teams. More than 13,000 customers, including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL and Volvo, use MaintainX to cut unplanned downtime and run better operations, across 13.9 million managed assets and 79.5 million completed work orders.
In August 2026 MaintainX became part of Autodesk, joining Autodesk Operations Solutions, the organization unifying Autodesk's operations platform alongside Tandem, FlexSim and Fusion Operations. Autodesk's strategy is to converge design, make and operate into one continuous lifecycle: design an asset, build it, run it, then feed what you learn running it back into the next design. Autodesk had design and make. Operate is the phase that tells you what actually happened, and it is ours.
The role
We're looking for multiple Software Development Managers to lead one of several engineering teams. As a Dev Manager at MaintainX, you're the person who turns a roadmap into shipped, reliable software. You'll manage 5 to 6 developers, own delivery and quality for your team's area, and make the calls that keep a group of builders moving without losing the craft.
This is a single hiring pipeline across our product and platform teams. Teams currently looking for new leadership include:
- Reporting: Own the product surface where customers measure the value of MaintainX, turning millions of work orders and asset events into the dashboards and insights that maintenance leaders bring to their execs. It's a high-visibility team with a direct line from what you ship to why customers renew.
- Identity & Access Management: Build the systems that power secure and seamless access across the MaintainX platform. You'd design and operate authentication, authorization, and governance services that scale with our enterprise customers and keep user experience frictionless and trusted.
- Search: Design and build MaintainX’s end-to-end search and retrieval platform. Work across indexing, ranking, and semantic retrieval so technicians and managers find the right asset, procedure, or work order in seconds.
What You'll Do
- Manage a team of 5 to 6 developers: own their delivery, quality, and day-to-day priorities.
- Partner with Product Managers and Designers to scope, plan, and deliver against a high bar for reliability.
- Coach and grow your developers: help them build skills, navigate hard problems, and plan their next career step.
- Shape who joins next. All these teams are hiring and need a leader who will interview and raise our talent bar.
- Set clear expectations and give ongoing feedback, so your team always knows where it stands.
- Champion CI/CD, code quality, and observability practices across your team's systems.
- Give senior leadership visibility into your team's impact, progress, and risk.
Where we work
We don't have a minimum in-office mandate, but we prefer our teams to be located around our office hubs. In Canada this includes: Montreal and Toronto.
What We're Looking For
- 2-3 years of people leadership experience, with a track record of leading teams that ship.
- A strong technical foundation. You should be comfortable performing at a senior level with system design, computer science fundamentals, and modern web technologies.
- Experience with technical design, problem-solving, and project management (Jira experience preferred).
- A genuine interest in hiring, coaching, and developing engineers, not just directing them.
- Comfort partnering with Recruiting and other managers to hire and scale the org.
- Excellent communication: you can carry a tradeoff conversation with an engineer and a non-technical stakeholder equally well.
Our mission is to keep the physical world running. Factories, fleets, hospitals and campuses stay up because the people who maintain them have tools worth using. That is what we build.
Compensation and benefits. Base pay is one part of the package. Depending on the role, compensation may also include commission, an annual bonus and equity. Benefits differ by country. For roles in the United States, Autodesk’s benefits are described at benefits.autodesk.com. For roles in Canada and other countries, the plan differs on health coverage, retirement and leave, and your recruiter will walk you through it.
Belonging. We take pride in a culture where everyone can thrive. More at autodesk.com/company/global-belonging. More on where this is going: Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost on building the future of connected operations, and AOS SVP Stephen Hooper on welcoming MaintainX to Autodesk.
Compensation Range: CA$140K - CA$205K
