WHERE YOU COME IN

We are looking for a Data Platform Specialist to join our team at Make-A-Wish Canada. Reporting to the Director, Data Analytics & Insights, you will build and maintain the trusted data foundation that supports fundraising, marketing, reporting, segmentation, and organizational decision-making. This hands-on role works at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, and stakeholder problem solving.

This role can be based anywhere in Canada and is a full-time, hybrid, permanent position. The hiring range for this role is $64,000 to $75,000.

What You Will Do

Build, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot data pipelines across Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data360, DonorDrive, Microsoft Fabric, external files, and third-party platforms.
Develop and optimize Fabric Lakehouse, Data Factory, notebooks, and data engineering workloads, including automation of manual data preparation and refresh processes.
Design and maintain scalable bronze, silver, and gold data layers, data models, fact and dimension tables, semantic models, and curated reporting datasets.
Develop datasets and data assets supporting Tableau, KPIs, forecasting, segmentation, campaign analysis, personalization, and organizational reporting.
Develop audience segmentation datasets, supporter profiles, Data Extensions, SQL activities, automations, and integrations to enable trusted donor and supporter data activation.
Clean, standardize, validate, document, and monitor donor, campaign, donation, contact, and engagement data, including identity resolution and deduplication.
Maintain source-to-target mappings, business rules, refresh schedules, data limitations, and documentation supporting privacy, security, stewardship, and responsible data use.
Partner with fundraising, marketing, finance, business applications, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
Define and maintain trusted metrics for donor counts, revenue, retention, acquisition, engagement, campaign performance, forecasting, and lifetime value.
Other duties, as required.

What You Bring

Post secondary education in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
3+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or another data focused role.
Experience with modern cloud-based data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
Experience building and supporting data pipelines and integrating data from multiple systems and platforms.
Experience with Salesforce CRM is considered an asset.
Experience working in a nonprofit or charitable organization is considered an asset.
A clear Criminal Background Check is required.

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

Hybrid work environment (2 days in-office, 3 days remote per week) with occasional requirement to work outside of traditional office hours.

Physical/Mental Effort

Work under pressure of tight deadlines, with a high-volume workload, and with multiple demands & changing priorities.
