Role Description

The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Oshawa, ON, supporting daily operations across one or more locations within the Malran Management Group portfolio. This role oversees front-line staff, ensures high standards of customer service, and supports inventory management, scheduling, and cash handling. The Assistant Manager helps implement company policies, supports training and onboarding, and monitors compliance with health, safety, and brand standards. This position also assists with resolving customer concerns, tracking performance metrics, and coordinating with senior management on operational improvements. The role requires a hands-on presence on the floor, fostering a positive work environment and contributing to overall business growth.

Qualifications

Operational and leadership skills, including team supervision, shift management, and hands-on support in a hospitality or retail environment.
Customer service and communication skills, with the ability to address guest concerns professionally and maintain strong relationships with staff and stakeholders.
Organizational and administrative skills, including experience with scheduling, inventory tracking, cash handling, and basic reporting.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on maintaining service quality, efficiency, and compliance with company policies.
Knowledge of food service or hospitality standards, including health and safety regulations and brand consistency requirements.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs.
Previous experience in an assistant manager, shift lead, or supervisory role is strongly preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, hospitality, or a related field is an asset.
