GCP Security Engineering and Integration Specialist

Amaris Consulting is supporting a strategic enterprise initiative to migrate business applications and infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform. We are looking for a GCP Security Engineering and Integration Specialist to guide security activities throughout the full migration lifecycle.

The role will support teams during assessment, architecture, design, onboarding, migration and deployment. You will help ensure that security requirements, cloud standards, risk controls and secure-by-design principles are applied consistently across the GCP environment.

Main responsibilities

  • Act as the primary security advisor for infrastructure and application teams involved in the GCP migration.
  • Support the implementation and hardening of security controls within the GCP Landing Zone.
  • Conduct security architecture reviews and technical assessments for GCP capabilities and onboarding activities.
  • Review cloud architectures, configurations, migration plans and security project plans.
  • Identify security risks, gaps and dependencies, then define remediation and mitigation plans.
  • Assess migrated applications and infrastructure against enterprise security standards.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineering, infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity teams.
  • Support secure integration patterns across GCP, hybrid infrastructure and enterprise applications.
  • Develop reusable GCP security patterns, standards and implementation guidance.
  • Contribute to governance, compliance and audit documentation.
  • Track security actions and provide clear recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.

Expected outcomes

  • Security guidance delivered throughout infrastructure and application migrations.
  • Security assessments and risk evaluations completed for GCP workloads.
  • GCP architecture and migration designs reviewed and validated.
  • Documented remediation plans and risk mitigation actions.
  • Reusable cloud security patterns and implementation recommendations.
  • Supporting documentation available for governance, compliance and audit activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Security Specialist, Cloud Security Engineer or Security Architect.
  • Strong experience supporting large-scale GCP migration initiatives in enterprise environments.
  • Solid knowledge of GCP security architecture and Landing Zone design.
  • Experience conducting security architecture reviews, threat assessments and risk evaluations.
  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and industry standards.
  • Experience working in large, complex and global organisations.
