About The Role
Under the direct supervision of the Director – Communications & Government Relations, the Communications Assistant is responsible for supporting communications activities, events and initiatives. Key responsibilities include administrative duties, events coordination, and communication supports.

Education/Experience
WHAT YOU BRING
- Diploma in office administration, business administration, or secretarial program.
- Significant work experience in a corporate environment, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Skills/Abilities
- Exceptional copywriting and proofreading skills.
- Experienced in use of Content Management Systems and applications for posting web/social content.
- Experienced in the use of Canva or similar applications.
- Advance use of SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge of Indigenous history, culture and worldview.
- Appreciation and respect of others cultural teachings and understanding and, working within a multi-faith setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interprofessional team environment.
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work.
Asset
- Ability to converse in a second language is an asset.
Conditions Of Employment
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
- Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation.
- Ability to work irregular hours (requirement of the job ie: evening or weekend public engagement or event).
