Original job description
I'm a Senior Investment Advisor building a wealth management practice serving professionals, business owners, and families with increasingly sophisticated financial needs. I'm hiring a Junior Advisor to work directly alongside me - not to fill a seat, but to build a career.
This is a mentored, career-development role. You will not inherit a book of business or take over pre-established client relationships. You will build your own practice from the ground up, learning what works from someone who has done exactly that.
What you'll do
Your development starts with the fundamentals and grows with your readiness:
- Master compliance requirements and client service standards
- Prospect and generate opportunities through cold calling and proactive outreach
- Qualify prospects, schedule meetings, and support existing client relationships
- Shadow real client and prospect meetings to see how trust is earned
- Build financial projections, retirement plans, and portfolio strategies
- Learn how tax and estate considerations integrate with wealth management
- Gradually assume responsibility for clients you help originate and develop
What you'll get from me
I built my practice from scratch, so I know the rejection, uncertainty, and learning curve firsthand - and I've refined what actually works. You will work directly with me, observe real conversations, and learn how key decisions get made. Expect guidance, candid feedback, and increasing responsibility as you demonstrate readiness.
Full support is provided for licensing and professional designations.
Who thrives here
- You're highly driven, coachable, and genuinely curious about wealth management
- You can handle rejection and keep pushing forward
- You think in years, not months, and are more focused on building something of your own than on immediate comfort
- You have strong communication skills and are willing to step outside your comfort zone
- Bachelor's degree or relevant business/sales experience preferred; deep investment knowledge is not required from day one
Compensation
The role includes a modest, fixed stipend during the initial development period. You should be financially prepared for a lean early stage. Over time, compensation increasingly reflects the clients you originate, the relationships you help manage, and the responsibility you take on.
How to apply
If you're ambitious, prepared to work hard, and eager to learn directly from someone who has built the kind of practice you want to create, apply via LinkedIn or send me a direct message with a brief note explaining why this opportunity appeals to you.
