Original job description

Reporting to the Manager, Sales Learning and Development, the Strategic Sales Capability Consultant collaborates with Sales, Marketing, and key stakeholders to align learning, capability, and performance strategies with business growth priorities and customer experience outcomes. The role leads cross-functional initiatives, conducts needs analysis, delivers facilitation and performance consulting, and applies emerging learning practices, technologies, and AI-enabled solutions to develop scalable capability-building experiences for evolving sales audiences. Through stakeholder partnership, learning strategy, and measurement of business impact, the Strategic Sales Capability Consultant drives behaviour change, capability growth, and continuous improvement across the Design and Development and CE Centre teams.

Position Responsibilities:

Driving future growth and AI Enablement (35%)

Identifies and develops strategy synergy between training, sales and marketing for future focused growth, including increasing our digital footprint, competitive analysis, identifying pilot groups, research, testing and application with a focus on sales effectiveness
Leads the exploration of emerging learning, performance, and enablement practices, identifying future capabilities, technologies, and approaches needed to support evolving sales audiences and business strategies.
Evaluates, pilots, and applies emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools and performance support solutions, to improve learning effectiveness, capability development, and business outcomes.
Collects sales data and marketing data to tie into the training team data, creating robust summaries to be shared out
Questions the status quo and consistently looks for the most innovative and engaging solutions with continuous improvement mindset
Builds capability strategies that anticipate future workforce, customer, and industry needs, ensuring learning solutions remain relevant and aligned to evolving business priorities.
Work with L&D Manager/s to oversee audience learning journey and career pathways in the organization

Facilitation and Learning Experience Design (35%)

Facilitates high-impact learning experiences, workshops, and strategic sessions that drive capability development, behaviour change, and business performance across sales audiences.
Design consistent training solutions that meet the needs of the adult learners across multiple businesses, writing and editing content; testing solutions for readiness and usability

Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to anticipate needs across multiple businesses
Proactively seek feedback from clients to continuously evolve and improve services provided individually and by the broader T&D team

Enterprise and Sales Alignment & Strategy (30%)

Uses performance data, learner insights, business metrics, and stakeholder feedback to evaluate capability development initiatives, measure impact and ROI, and inform future learning and enablement strategies.
Performs the full consultation cycle by identifying capability and performance gaps, conducting needs analysis, recommending learning and non-learning solutions, and measuring business impact.

Manages concurrent complex design projects from end to end; communicating with partners and key stakeholders, influencing and adhering to tight timelines and ensuring strong communication plan and workback schedules
Demonstrates inclusive behaviors and provides opportunities to collaborate across teams
Fosters an environment where team members share insights and generate ideas, to become more innovative and create value for business partners across the organization
Maps road to readiness path including implementing change management tools where required, across multiple businesses

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to facilitate engaging learning experiences and influence behaviour change through coaching, facilitation, and stakeholder consultation.
Demonstrated curiosity and interest in emerging learning practices, technologies, AI-enabled tools, and future workforce trends.
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, behaviour change strategies, and performance consulting practices.
Strong critical thinking, needs analysis, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify capability and performance gaps.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage audiences at all levels.
Strong organizational, consulting, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex initiatives.
Experience translating business needs into scalable learning, performance, or capability solutions that support measurable business outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience facilitating workshops, leading discussions, or supporting behaviour change across diverse audiences.
Demonstrated interest in future workforce trends, digital transformation, AI-enabled capability development, and emerging approaches to learning and performance.
Experience in learning and development, sales enablement, organizational development, facilitation, performance consulting, or other capability-building functions.
Experience leveraging learner insights, business metrics, stakeholder feedback, or performance data to evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Experience within financial services, insurance, wealth management, sales enablement, or advisor-facing environments considered an asset.
University/College degree in Adult Education, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field preferred.

Salary range is expected to be between

$70,500.00 CAD - $117,500.00 CAD
