Tasks
- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Supervise other workers
- Estimate costs and materials
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

Prepare labour and material estimates, interpret blueprints and sketches, and measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join construction materials. Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware; maintain, repair, and renovate structures; and supervise workers and apprentices.
