Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Millwright will be responsible for maintaining equipment, troubleshooting and completing emergency repairs to keep the plant running as efficiently as possible.
Location: 7120 Edwards Blvd, Mississauga ON L5S 1Z1
Available Shifts: Monday - Friday, 6am - 3:30pm; flexibility required.
This role is open to Millwrights with a 433 license.

What you will be doing:
- Equipment Maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintain and troubleshoot vacuum pumps and associated vacuum systems.
- Support and maintain oxygen monitoring and gas flushing systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot coding equipment and price labelling systems.
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory for packaging systems and vacuum pumps.
- Serve as the primary technical specialist for packaging systems. a.
- Develop preventive maintenance procedures for packaging equipment and supporting systems.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on packaging equipment
- Work with and support manufacturer’s technicians, contractors and suppliers during installations, upgrades and major repairs.
- Train maintenance personnel on specialized packaging equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime and improve packaging performance. a. Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement root cause corrective actions
- Policies, Processes & Procedures
- Adhere/comply with company policies and procedures.
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Recommend, develop and implement enhancements and improvements to departmental policies and procedures.
What you will bring:
- Minimum 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment is required.
- Advanced knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
- Strong knowledge of Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) processes and packaging equipment
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining tray sealing machines
- Experience with vacuum pumps
- Knowledge of gas flushing systems, oxygen analyzers, and package integrity verification
- Experience with thermal transfer printers and coding equipment
- Experience with price labelling and print-and-apply systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills in Pneumatics, Mechanical systems, Electrical controls, PLC systems and HMI interfaces, Sensors and instrumentation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, pneumatic schematics, and mechanical assembly drawings
- Experience with machine integration and communication between packaging equipment, printers, labelers, weighers, and conveyors.
- General Computer Skills (e.g. MS Office) Education and Certification Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma in related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance) is required.
- Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License (433A) or equivalent is required.
