Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.
This Opportunity:
We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent Personal Support Worker (PSW) position, internally known as a Support Services Attendant (SSA), serving the Bradford, Keswick, Newmarket, Aurora, and Ballantrae regions.
Wage: $20.11 per hour
Hours: Up to 35 hours per week
Schedule: Must be available to work mornings, evenings, and every other weekend, as well as half of the 10 statutory holidays, including mandatory shifts on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day.
Responsibilities:

Assist clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures, including:

Personal care and grooming.
-
Lifts and transfers.
-
Assistance with rising and retiring.
-
Bowel and bladder care procedures.
-
Meal preparation and feeding assistance.
-
Range-of-motion exercises.
-
Light housekeeping duties.
-
Perform all duties professionally while respecting clients' dignity, privacy, and rights and maintaining a safe environment for clients and staff.
Qualifications:
-
Valid driver's licence, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance.

Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or equivalent.
-
Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
-
Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, with knowledge or understanding of independent living and client-centred care.

Knowledge of and ability to perform attendant care duties, including transferring, lifting, and bowel and bladder routines.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours.
-
Completion of a Physical Demands Self-Analysis upon hire.
