Original job description

About Us

Many people will spend their lives in a Marcon home, so we have to build it right, every time. Founded in 1985, Marcon is an established real estate company specializing in acquiring, developing, building and managing properties across Metro Vancouver. A focus on quality and craft is what the business was built on, giving us a trusted name in the construction community. These principles have remained a focus as we’ve expanded into the real estate development and operations space, managing our own projects from conception through to execution, completion, and more recently ongoing management.

We have a commitment to providing elevated experiences at every touch point between our people, our buildings, and our communities. None of this is possible without a hardworking team, working together, to make it all happen. That’s why we’re looking for people who are eager to join an intelligent and motivated team to create something bigger than themselves and build communities that will impact a neighbourhood in infinite ways.

Job Description

The Procurement Manager leads Marcon’s construction procurement capability across the project portfolio, ensuring subcontractors, suppliers, materials, and major equipment are sourced strategically and aligned with project cost, schedule, quality, safety, and commercial requirements.

The role provides commercial leadership across procurement planning, market engagement, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiation, award, and project handover. It also strengthens Marcon’s trade relationships, market intelligence, and portfolio-level procurement discipline.

Working closely with Preconstruction, Estimating, Construction, Finance, and other project stakeholders, the Procurement Manager provides clear commercial insight, identifies procurement and supply-chain risks early, and supports sound decisions across the portfolio.

The Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to shape procurement across a growing portfolio of development and construction projects. You will help strengthen procurement practices, build strong trade and supplier relationships, and bring greater visibility to cost, timing, market conditions, and supply-chain risks. You will play an important role in connecting project requirements with the right procurement strategies and commercial outcomes, while supporting consistency and continuous improvement across the portfolio.

What You Bring

You bring 5–7+ years of progressive experience in construction procurement, estimating, preconstruction, project management, commercial management, subcontract management, or a related field.
You have experience procuring significant construction trade, supplier, material, or equipment packages and strong knowledge of construction pricing, subcontractor markets, commercial terms, procurement risk, and supply-chain considerations.
You are experienced in complex commercial negotiations, bid evaluation, and developing procurement recommendations. You build strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, project teams, and senior stakeholders while maintaining commercial discipline.
Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
You bring strong strategic judgment, communication, analytical, and collaboration skills, along with a willingness to responsibly leverage digital and AI-enabled tools to improve decision-making and efficiency.

What We Offer

Marcon is committed to building an inclusive, inspired, high-performance team culture, where our Core Values of Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Passion, and Excellence guide how we show up every day. If you are at the top of your game or want to find an environment to push you to it and if you want to find like-minded teams that strive for innovation and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!

Our competitive compensation package has been designed to reward our employees’ skills, competencies and performance that align with our culture. The compensation range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on candidate experience and qualifications. Coupled with this base salary, we offer pay for performance bonus programs, excellent family health benefits, RRSP matching, employee recognition programs and plenty of opportunity to socialize, have fun and build genuine relationships.
