Original job description

Job Overview

MarkupMarvel is opening 2 MERN Stack Developer Intern positions for people who’ve studied Next.js, React, Node.js, and MongoDB but haven’t yet applied these skills on a real production project. This is a 6-month unpaid internship focused on giving you genuine full-stack experience - working alongside our development team on actual client work using Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

What You’ll Do

Build features across the full stack - Next.js frontend, Node.js backend, MongoDB or MySQL database
Write TypeScript code following our team’s standards and conventions
Style interfaces using Tailwind CSS to match Figma designs
Work on real API endpoints and data integrations for client projects
Debug and troubleshoot issues on live development branches
Participate in code reviews to learn production-level coding standards

Requirement

Completed coursework or self-study in the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js)
Basic understanding of Next.js and TypeScript
Familiarity with either MongoDB or MySQL
Basic understanding of Tailwind CSS or utility-first styling
Willingness to learn real-world coding standards and take direction from senior developers

Nice to Have

A personal or academic project built using the MERN stack
Basic Git/GitHub experience
Understanding of REST or GraphQL APIs

What We Offer

6 months of real full-stack project experience - not tutorials or sandbox tasks
Direct mentorship from senior developers working on live US/UK client projects
A genuine portfolio of shipped full-stack features
Opportunity for paid work, job placement, or recommendation to partner companies after completion
Certificate of completion and LinkedIn recommendation
Possibility to continue with MarkupMarvel on a project or partnership basis after the internship

How To Apply

Send your resume, coursework details, and any personal project links (GitHub preferred) to careers@markupmarvel.com
