Senior Analyst/Associate, Investments and Financing

The Baz Group of Companies is seeking a Senior Analyst / Associate, Investments & Financing to join our fast growing and dynamic team in our Toronto office. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the Baz Group's growing portfolio across Canada, with a particular focus on our seniors living platform.

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Analyst / Associate to support acquisitions, financial analysis, investor reporting, portfolio performance monitoring, and special projects across the Baz Group of Companies' current operating business units as well as new business lines.

Reporting to the Director, Investments and Financing. The role offers significant exposure to our seniors living platform - including acquisitions, portfolio transactions, and development opportunities - alongside high-rise and low-rise residential developments, while gaining insights into project operations and execution.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Seniors Living Investments: Support the underwriting, due diligence, and execution of seniors housing acquisitions and portfolio transactions, including operating proformas, financing analysis, and returns modelling.
• Financial Analysis & Decision Support: Assist through financial modeling, market research, and analysis to support decision-making in existing projects, corporate strategies, and new initiatives.
• Portfolio Monitoring: Play a pivotal role in monitoring and analyzing portfolio and market trends to support investment strategies, risk assessment, and portfolio management.
• Investor Reporting & Correspondence: Coordinate information across various divisions within Baz Group to develop, prepare, and distribute detailed reporting packages and investment materials for our equity partners
• Corporate & Project Financing: Prepare, collect, and distribute due diligence and reporting materials for lenders, including annual corporate net worth reporting packages.
• New Business Lines: Support the evaluation of new ventures and adjacent strategies, including long-term care development, through business model research, financial modelling, and preparation of preliminary materials.
• Process Improvement & AI Enablement: Identify opportunities to apply AI and other tools to streamline recurring analysis, reporting, and document review, and help build out the team's capability in this area.
• Ad-Hoc Analytical Support: Provide analytical support across Baz Group's business units and special projects as needed.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Comfortable operating with incomplete information, with the judgment to make and clearly document defensible assumptions;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
