ROLE SUMMARY:
- The Supply Planner owns the day-to-day and rolling supply plan for a designated Mars Snacking portfolio, balancing customer service, inventory, capacity, production, and waste. Using demand forecasts, inventory targets, planning parameters, and supply constraints, this role develops feasible plans, identifies risks early, and coordinates actions across Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Customer Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance. The Supply Planner provides clear scenario analysis and recommendations for S&OP and Supply Chain Management Review, drives root-cause and corrective actions against key performance indicators, and continuously improves planning processes, data, and system performance.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in supply planning, production planning, inventory management, demand planning, or broader supply chain operations, ideally within fast-moving consumer goods or consumer packaged goods.
- Planning and systems capability: Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and advanced planning tools such as SAP, JDA/Blue Yonder, OMP, Kinaxis, or comparable platforms, with the ability to understand planning parameters, system outputs, and material movements.
- Analytical capability: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis; experience with Power Query, Power BI, or similar visualization tools is preferred.
- Leadership and collaboration: Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-influencing skills, with the ability to organize multiple priorities, make fact-based recommendations, and own decisions within a fast-paced portfolio.
PREFERRED, NOT-ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES
- Experience with SAP ECC, including iDocs, EDI or API messaging, material goods movements, material management processes, and SAP jobs or programs.
- Advanced analytics experience using SQL, Python, VBA, database management systems.
WHAT WILL BE YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the supply plan: Develop and maintain a rolling, feasible supply plan using the demand forecast, production and co-manufacturing capacity, material availability, lead times, inventory targets, and agreed business priorities.
- Manage service, inventory, and waste: Monitor projected stock, safety stocks, coverage, and product shelf life to prevent stockouts while reducing excess, slow-moving, obsolete, and at-risk inventory. Lead root-cause analysis and action plans through the SLOMO process.
- Drive exception-based execution: Review planning alerts, past-due supply or purchase orders, stock movements, and schedule adherence. Escalate constraints early, evaluate trade-offs, and coordinate timely recovery actions with manufacturing sites, co-packers, procurement, logistics, and customer teams.
- Support S&OP and SCMR: Provide robust analysis, scenarios, assumptions, risks, opportunities, and recommended decisions for Sales & Operations Planning and Supply Chain Management Review. Translate decisions into executable plans and track actions to closure.
