MarshDescription:
We are seeking an experienced Global Health Advisory Consultant with a clinical background to join Marsh’s Multinational Advisory team. The role combines clinical judgment, medical claims review, health data analytics, and strategic consulting to help multinational employers understand and manage health risks across the countries in which they operate.
This is a Hybrid role based in our Montreal Office.
You will translate medical and work-related population data into practical advice for clients, supporting the design, governance, and optimization of medical benefit plans around the world. You will work with international colleagues and senior client stakeholders to identify emerging risks, interpret claims and utilization patterns, assess local health system contexts, and recommend actions that improve health outcomes, employee experience, cost efficiency, and workforce productivity.
What you will do
Global health risk management and benefits strategy
· Support multinational employers in developing and implementing global health risk-management strategies delivered through their medical benefits plans.
· Advise on global health, mental health, wellbeing, prevention, chronic-condition management, and benefits-design priorities across diverse workforces.
· Interpret healthcare-system differences, public provision, regulation, infrastructure, epidemiology, cultural expectations, and local market practices when adapting global recommendations for individual countries.
· Develop and articulate strategic recommendations based on deep brokerage expertise, including insured, non-insured, and self-insured benefits; flexible benefits; and the international financial vehicles managed by Marsh to help multinational clients effectively manage health risks.
· Assess opportunities to use digital health, data platforms, automation, and responsible AI to strengthen benefits administration, health-risk identification, member support, and reporting.
Client leadership and business development
· Lead complex, large-scale consulting engagements for multinational clients, acting as a trusted advisor and guiding project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, including human resources, reward, finance, risk, procurement, and health and wellbeing leaders.
· Identify and develop sales opportunities by shaping relevant solutions and proposals, providing specialized support for GBM RFPs, and developing points of view for global clients.
· Present findings and recommendations with clarity and confidence to senior audiences and represent Marsh at industry events, conferences, and appropriate professional channels.
· Share knowledge, coach colleagues, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and internationally connected team culture.
Clinical and medical claims advisory
· Review medical claims, utilization, cost, and care-pattern data from multinational benefit plans through a clinical, public-health, and epidemiological lens.
· Identify clinically significant trends, outliers, avoidable variation, high-cost and high-impact conditions, opportunities for earlier intervention, and potential gaps in care or care navigation.
· Assess the implications of claims findings for population health, plan design, vendor performance, clinical programs, and member outcomes while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and data-governance standards.
· Use Marsh studies, data trends, and published clinical research to identify emerging health risks that clients need to address in their global health risk strategies.
· Provide evidence-based, clearly documented advice to clients and internal teams; distinguish established evidence, professional judgment, and areas where further investigation is required.
· Conduct global cost-optimization and value analyses, linking medical spend, health outcomes, employee engagement, absence, productivity, and the broader value of benefits investment.
Analytics, research, and insight generation
· Design analytical approaches, define relevant measures, interpret datasets, and convert complex findings into concise, decision-ready recommendations for senior stakeholders.
· Develop health-risk profiles, benchmarking, dashboards, executive insights, and country-level comparisons that support multinational decision-making.
· Conduct specialized research and contribute to intellectual capital and solution development in global health, medical inflation, claims trends, health equity, mental health, global well-being, prevention, and emerging risks based on the needs of multinational clients and changes in the market.
· Monitor developments in clinical practice, public health, healthcare delivery, legislation, and technology, and communicate their potential implications for clients.

· Experience working with multinational organizations, international health benefits, global rewards, people strategy, or cross-border healthcare programs.
· Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret medical claims and health data, identify meaningful patterns, and explain their implications to non-clinical audiences.
· Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior client stakeholders and internal teams.
· A proactive, solution-oriented approach and the ability to manage complex, dynamic requirements while delivering high-quality work.
What would make you stand out

· A track record of leading project teams, managing large-scale projects, prioritizing multiple deliverables, and working effectively with virtual and global teams.
