Original job description

Martket Textile is seeking an organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to support product development, production coordination, and day-to-day operations within our integrated Design Lab and Production Studio, where managing competing priorities, meeting production deadlines, and maintaining quality standards are essential.

Martket Textile is a Vancouver-based cut-and-sew manufacturer specializing in fashion and consumer textiles. We partner with emerging and established brands, fashion design and development agencies, and fabric and trim suppliers to deliver high-quality nearshore manufacturing solutions for North American retail channels. Our operations combine advanced sewing and bonding technologies with flexible production capabilities, supporting volumes of 500–5,000 units per month, depending on product and style complexity.

As Production Coordinator, you'll work closely with our in-house design and manufacturing teams, suppliers, and external brand partners to coordinate projects from development through production and delivery. You'll take ownership of day-to-day coordination, balance technical and administrative responsibilities, and proactively manage priorities to keep projects on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with technical product development, including garment specifications, sampling, fittings, and production documentation
  • Collaborate with design, technical development, and manufacturing teams to coordinate projects from concept through production
  • Support fabric and trim sourcing, purchasing, inventory coordination, and material requirements
  • Independently coordinate daily production activities, manage competing priorities and tight production schedules, and ensure timely follow-through on deliverables
  • Proactively monitor production progress, anticipate delays, troubleshoot issues, and adapt to changing production requirements to keep projects on schedule
  • Assist with quality control, product testing, and troubleshooting throughout development and production
  • Maintain fabric and material management records, production lot records, and related documentation to support inventory accuracy, quality control, and traceability
  • Support textile trade compliance, including CUSMA documentation, Tariff Preference Level (TPL) requirements, and export coordination
  • Coordinate communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams regarding project requirements, timelines, and updates
  • Support order processing, invoicing, scheduling, correspondence, and general administrative activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve production workflows, operational efficiency, and product quality
  • Monitor industry developments, manufacturing technologies, and best practices to support continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in apparel manufacturing, textile production, production coordination, fashion design, or related roles; experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Post-secondary education in fashion design, apparel technology, fashion production, fashion merchandising, business administration, or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with garment construction, textile materials, technical specifications, and apparel production processes considered an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple production projects, competing priorities, and tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and resourceful, with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, production teams, suppliers, and external brand partners
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing production and operational challenges
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital collaboration platforms
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, apparel design software, or production management systems considered an asset
  • Comfortable adopting AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity and streamline workflows
  • Valid driver's licence required; personal vehicle not required
  • Ability to work on-site at our Vancouver headquarters

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Two weeks of paid vacation, plus additional paid time off during our annual Christmas and New Year's office closure
  • Extended health and dental benefits after three months
  • Professional development and opportunities to gain hands-on experience across textile design, technical development, and manufacturing
  • On-site position at our Vancouver headquarters, featuring an integrated Design Lab and Production Studio
