Role Description The Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in West Kelowna, BC, responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities on assigned projects. This role coordinates and supervises site crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure work is executed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with project specifications and quality standards. The Superintendent monitors progress, manages site logistics, conducts regular site inspections, and addresses issues that may impact timelines, costs, or safety. They work closely with project managers, consultants, and clients to ensure clear communication, accurate documentation, and effective problem-solving. The role also includes enforcing health and safety policies, maintaining site records, and supporting efficient project close-out.
Qualifications
- Experience overseeing multifamily construction projects, including site supervision and coordination of trades.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, and quality control practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Effective leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills to guide site personnel and subcontractors.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities, including scheduling, planning, and prioritizing tasks.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with project teams, clients, and inspectors.
- Comfort using construction management software, digital reporting tools, and basic office applications.
- Relevant industry experience in a Superintendent or similar site leadership role; experience with multifamily, wood frame, concrete parkade structures, and complex projects.
- Knowledge of local Kelowna and BC construction practices and regulations is beneficial.
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site throughout the project duration.
