Original job description
**in-house role only**
We are looking for an experienced CG Supervisor / VFX Supervisor to join our Montreal team in a key in-house leadership role.
The position will oversee and manage our CG/VFX teams of approximately 20 artists, providing both creative and technical leadership across projects from initial brief through final delivery.
Responsibilities will include preparing and scoping projects, building cost estimates and resource plans, supervising artists and workflows, attending shoots as an on-set VFX Supervisor, and ensuring the highest level of creative and technical execution throughout production.
This is also a highly hands-on role. The CG Supervisor / VFX Supervisor must be an expert Maya artist and be prepared to work directly within projects when required, including prepping shots, creating setups, developing workflows and solutions, troubleshooting complex technical and creative challenges, and taking on full shots at the highest level of execution. The expectation is to lead by example and remain closely connected to the work being produced by the team.
The role will work closely with our producers, creative teams and clients, as well as collaborate extensively with our Paris studio, sharing resources, expertise and workflows across offices. Beyond individual projects, this person will play an important role in developing the Montreal team, mentoring artists, improving pipelines and processes, identifying new technologies and techniques, and continuously advancing the creative and technical capabilities of the studio.
We are looking for someone who combines exceptional Maya and CG expertise, strong creative sensibility, problem-solving ability and leadership, while remaining curious and committed to continually learning and evolving. This person should be equally comfortable leading a team, speaking with clients, supervising on set and sitting down to solve or execute a demanding shot themselves.
