About Matrix

Matrix provides camp management, aviation, logistics, workforce accommodation, and support services to clients across Canada. We operate in dynamic environments where technology plays a critical role in supporting employees, operations, clients, and business growth.

We are looking for a hands-on Information Technology Coordinator to become our primary internal technology resource. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, supporting users, and taking ownership of technology across the organization.

The Opportunity

As the Information Technology Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of our technology environment while helping drive process improvements, automation, cybersecurity initiatives, and business systems projects.

This position combines technology, operations, and business support responsibilities. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and supporting both technical and non-technical users.

Approximately 70-80% of the role is focused on information technology and business systems, with the remaining 20-30% supporting company communications, website updates, and social media initiatives.

Responsibilities

Information Technology

Serve as the primary internal technology resource for the organization
Provide technical support to office employees and business users
Administer and support Microsoft 365 and related business applications
Manage employee onboarding and offboarding from a technology perspective
Configure, deploy, maintain, and recover company technology assets
Maintain equipment and asset inventories
Coordinate hardware, software, and technology procurement
Administer and support the company phone system
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues
Coordinate support with external vendors and service providers

Systems & Infrastructure

Support server and network administration
Monitor and maintain cybersecurity controls and best practices
Assist with system upgrades, maintenance, and technology planning
Manage software licensing and subscription renewals
Develop and maintain technology documentation and procedures
Support data management, backups, and system continuity initiatives

Projects & Process Improvement

Lead or coordinate technology projects
Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies
Support implementation of new software platforms and tools
Assist with system integrations and workflow improvements
Develop solutions that improve employee productivity and operational effectiveness

Communications & Marketing Support

Schedule and manage social media content
Assist with website updates and maintenance
Support recruitment and employer branding initiatives
Create and coordinate basic digital communications materials
Assist with marketing and company communication projects as required

Qualifications

Required

3-7 years of experience in information technology, systems administration, technical support, or a related role
Strong understanding of business technology systems and applications
Experience supporting users in a professional office environment
Experience managing vendors and external service providers
Knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and technology best practices
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Preferred

Experience serving as a sole IT resource or member of a small IT team
Experience with business process automation and workflow improvements
Experience supporting phone systems and business software platforms
Experience with website maintenance and social media management
Experience with asset and inventory management
Experience supporting growing organizations with diverse operational needs
