HR Business Partner, Corporate Services

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 1-2 days per week onsite as needed)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary Range: CAD $85,000 - $110,000 + Incentive Bonus

Summary

Are you a strategic HR professional who thrives on partnering with leaders, driving people initiatives, and leading meaningful HR projects? As the HR Business Partner, Corporate Services, you will serve as the dedicated HR partner for corporate functions including Finance, IT, Legal, Supply Chain, Marketing, and other head office teams.

Success in this role means building trusted relationships with leaders, becoming the go-to advisor for employee and organizational matters, leading complex HR initiatives, and delivering practical people solutions that support business objectives. This position combines traditional HR Business Partner responsibilities with a strong project management focus, offering a clear pathway toward future HR leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities

Partner with Leaders & Drive Employee Relations

Serve as the primary HR advisor to corporate leaders and employees.
Coach leaders on performance management, employee relations, attendance, accommodation, conduct, and disciplinary matters.
Support workplace investigations and provide recommendations while ensuring compliance and appropriate documentation.
Resolve employee concerns and provide guidance on policies, procedures, and employment practices.
Build strong credibility and trusted partnerships with senior and executive-level stakeholders.

Lead HR Programs & Annual People Cycles

Partner with leaders throughout the performance management, talent review, succession planning, engagement survey, and compensation cycles.
Develop and distribute communications, manager resources, and tracking tools to ensure successful program execution.
Support leaders in translating people insights into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

Manage HR Projects & Organizational Initiatives

Lead and coordinate HR projects with defined milestones, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement.
Participate in enterprise-wide initiatives such as policy updates, technology enhancements, employee experience programs, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and organizational effectiveness projects.
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the employee experience.

Deliver Employee Communications & Engagement Activities

Create and publish employee communications including newsletters, intranet content, announcements, organizational updates, and recognition features.
Support town halls, employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion activities, and other corporate programs.
Maintain consistent messaging that aligns with organizational standards and objectives.

Support Workforce Planning & Organizational Effectiveness

Partner with functional leaders on workforce planning and headcount forecasting.
Assist with organizational structure reviews, role clarity discussions, and workforce planning activities.
Draft and maintain job descriptions and support job evaluation activities.
Contribute to change management and organizational transformation initiatives.

Manage HR Operations & Data Integrity

Coordinate employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, offboarding, transfers, reporting changes, salary actions, leaves, and terminations.
Ensure employee records, HRIS data, and documentation remain accurate and compliant.
Partner with Payroll, Benefits, and Total Rewards to resolve issues and support employee needs.

Reporting, Analytics & Compliance

Generate HR reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics.
Analyze trends and provide recommendations to leaders and HR leadership.
Ensure compliance with employment standards, human rights, privacy, accessibility, and health and safety legislation.
Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal and external audit requirements.

Qualifications

Required

University degree or college diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
CHRP designation or active progress toward certification.
6-8 years of progressive HR experience with direct business partnering responsibilities.
Experience supporting a corporate or head-office client group.
Experience working in both Canadian and U.S. employment environments.
Strong employee relations experience, including investigations, performance management, accommodation, and termination processes.
Proven ability to influence leaders and build trusted relationships at multiple levels of the organization.
Experience participating in engagement, culture, wellness, diversity, or employee experience committees.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience creating employee-facing communications.
Experience leading projects with defined timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder accountability.
Experience using HRIS platforms and HR reporting tools.
Strong organizational skills and willingness to manage both strategic and administrative responsibilities.

Preferred

CHRL designation.
Experience with SAP SuccessFactors.
Experience creating dashboards, reports, and people analytics using Power BI.
Experience in manufacturing, logistics, industrial, engineering, or multi-site environments.
Exposure to HR technology implementations, process improvement initiatives, or audit activities.
