Original job description

Responsibilities:

Be able to set up, troubleshoot and make minor changes to machines.
Monitor quality / complete quality reports.
Process incoming and in-house materials, as required.
Organize and maintain the extrusion work area, including storage areas for staged and surplus product waiting to be ground.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, including the extruder machines and ancillary equipment.
Material handling.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through compliance to H & S policies.
Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices.

Skills and Requirements:

Sound troubleshooting skills with a strong mechanical background.
Should have, or be willing to learn, knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repairs and maintenance.
Must be a certified forklift operator, or be willing and able to achieve certification.
An understanding of the basic concepts of injection molding, plastics processing.
Comfortable working in a fast pace environment.
Self-motivated; ability to work without supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to details.
Shift flexibility, with the ability to work overtime, is a requirement – ability to work both continental (12 hr) and conventional (8 hr) shifts, if required.

Responsibilities

The Extruder Operator is responsible for setting up and troubleshooting machinery while ensuring the quality reproduction of plastic materials into standardized pellets. They must also maintain a clean, safe work environment and manage material handling tasks in compliance with manufacturing policies.

Requirements
