About MAV Beauty
MAV Beauty is a fast-growing, global beauty company with a portfolio of high-performance brands across haircare, personal care, and beauty-led wellness, including Marc Anthony True Professional, Cake Beauty, Renpure, and Sky Organics. We operate in a creator-first, social-first beauty world where brands are built through community, consistency, and cultural relevance - not one-off campaigns.
As we evolve our marketing model across Canada and the US, we are investing in long-term creator relationships and community-led growth to drive sustained visibility, relevance, earned momentum, and, increasingly, sales across our brands.
The Opportunity
The Creator Community Assistant Manager is a foundational role within MAV’s creator-first operating model. This role owns the full creator lifecycle for our brand communities - discovery, onboarding, seeding, activation, retention, and advocacy - ensuring creators are actively nurtured, supported, and re-engaged over time rather than treated as transactional partners.
This is a relationship-driven role with a strong operational backbone. Success is measured by creator retention, repeat posting, seeding-to-post conversion, and long-term advocacy - and, as our affiliate and social commerce programs scale, by the sales our creator community drives. Owned social channels serve as the visible home of the community rather than the primary focus of the role.
The Creator Community Assistant Manager works closely with Creator & Earned Media, our PR and influencer agencies, Social Media, Brand, and eCommerce teams to turn creator ecosystems into durable brand assets that compound in value over time.
Who You Are
You are:
- Relationship-driven and community-obsessed, energized by managing people - not just content
- Organized and operationally strong, comfortable tracking details across hundreds of creators and multiple brands at once
- Highly empathetic and communicative, with a natural instinct for follow-up and care
- Data-curious: you want to know which creators post, which don’t, and why - and you use that to make decisions
- Commercially minded, with a working understanding of how creator content drives discovery and purchase on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Amazon
- Hands-on and unfussy - happy to open boxes, pack out mailers, and do the “unsexy” work that makes great community engines possible
You understand that in modern beauty marketing, retention beats reach.
Key Responsibilities
Creator Community Ownership & Retention
- Own and manage brand-specific creator communities as long-term ecosystems, not campaign lists
- Build and maintain a tiered community structure (e.g., core advocates, rising creators, new and test creators) with a clear engagement cadence and benefits for each tier
- Lead creator onboarding, including welcome communications, brand and product education, and clear expectations on content, tagging, and disclosure
- Drive repeat engagement through always-on touchpoints: early access to launches, product feedback loops, surprise-and-delight moments, and exclusive community experiences
- Monitor creator health (responsiveness, posting frequency, sentiment) and run re-engagement or offboarding for lapsed creators
- Identify high-potential creators and graduate them into ambassador, paid, affiliate, or co-creation opportunities in partnership with the Creator & Earned Media Manager
Creator Discovery & Recruitment
- Source and vet new creators across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms, prioritizing brand fit, audience quality, and content craft over follower count
- Screen creators for brand safety, audience authenticity, and alignment with each brand’s values and target consumer
- Build a diverse, balanced pipeline of nano, micro, and mid-tier creators, hair and beauty professionals, and experts across Canada and the US
- Manage opt-in outreach and maintain a steady recruitment pipeline to offset natural churn and support upcoming launches
Seeding, Gifting & Creator Operations
- Plan and execute seeding calendars aligned to launches, seasonal moments, and brand priorities
- Physically manage product for creator programs: receive and unbox inventory, kit and pack out mailers, prepare outbound shipments, and keep sample and gifting inventory organized and accurate
- Coordinate shipping (including cross-border shipments to the US), replenishments, and creator product requests, tracking product and shipping costs against budget
- Coordinate seeding with PR and influencer agencies to avoid duplicated outreach and ensure clear ownership of every creator relationship
- Maintain the creator CRM as the single source of truth: contact details, tier, send history, posting history, rates, and content rights status
- Track live content, secure usage rights, and ensure creators follow disclosure requirements (Ad Standards Canada and FTC guidelines)
Affiliate & Social Commerce (Emerging – scaling as programs launch)
- Support the setup and day-to-day management of creator affiliate programs (e.g., ShopMy, LTK, Amazon Creator Connections, or similar), including creator recruitment, onboarding, and commission tracking
- As TikTok Shop and other social commerce channels launch for our brands, manage the affiliate creator program: outreach through platform affiliate tools, sample request approvals, targeted collaborations, and content follow-up
- Convert top-performing organic creators into commission-based partners, and identify affiliate creators worth nurturing as long-term brand advocates
- Track commerce performance, including affiliate-attributed sales/GMV, sample-to-content conversion, and content-to-sale performance, and share insights with Brand and eCommerce teams
- Stay current on social commerce platform policies, tools, and best practices, and recommend program improvements as the channel grows
Events & Creator Experiences
- Plan and support creator events, brand trips, desksides, and community experiences in Canada and the US, in partnership with PR agencies and internal teams
- Provide on-site event support, including setup, product displays, creator check-in, content capture, and breakdown
- Manage creator invite lists, RSVPs, and post-event follow-up to turn in-person moments into sustained content and relationships
Community-Led Owned Social Support (Secondary Focus)
- Support owned social channels as the visible hub of the creator and brand community
- Curate creator-generated content for reposting and amplification, and maintain a UGC library organized by brand, product, and rights status
- Monitor comments, DMs, and brand mentions, escalating insights or issues as needed
- Help ensure owned channels reflect active, credible, creator-led brand participation without owning full social content strategy
Measurement & Reporting
- Maintain a monthly creator community dashboard by brand, tracking community health, content output, and (as programs scale) commerce performance
- Clearly separate in-house community results from agency-driven and paid activity so performance is accurately attributed
- Turn data into action: recommend which creators to grow, re-engage, or retire, and which products, briefs, and moments drive the strongest response
- Contribute creator sentiment, product feedback, and trend insights to monthly reviews and quarterly business reviews
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work closely with the Creator & Earned Media Director and Brand team to align community activity with broader earned, influencer, and paid strategies
- Partner with PR and influencer agencies on events, mailers, and earned moments, with clear lines between agency-owned and in-house creator relationships
- Share community insights and product feedback with Brand, Social, Innovation, and eCommerce teams to inform content, launches, and commerce moments
- Partner with interns or coordinators to execute high-volume community and operational tasks
Success Measures
KPIs are set by brand and reviewed monthly. For newly tracked metrics, a baseline period is established before hard targets are set. Success in this role is measured across four areas:
Operational Excellence (fully within the role’s control)
- On-time execution of seeding calendars, shipments, and creator requests
- Speed and consistency of creator follow-up
- CRM accuracy and completeness, with content and rights captured for every live post
Community Health
- Active community size by brand and tier
- Creator retention rate and repeat posting rate
- Seeding-to-post conversion rate and time-to-post
- Opt-in and response rates, and re-engagement of lapsed creators
Content & Visibility
- Volume of creator content and rights-cleared UGC
- Earned impressions, engagement, and earned media value (EMV) from community content
- Contribution to brand share of voice and positive sentiment
Commerce (as affiliate and social commerce programs scale)
- Number of active affiliate creators
- Affiliate-attributed sales/GMV and return on product and commission investment
- Sample-to-content conversion and content-to-sale performance
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–4+ years of experience in community management, influencer relations, creator partnerships, or social support (beauty or lifestyle preferred)
- Experience running creator seeding programs and managing creators, influencers, or talent communities at scale
- Familiarity with creator management platforms (e.g., Traackr, GRIN, CreatorIQ, Aspire, Later, Dash Hudson, or similar) and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube creator ecosystems; experience with affiliate platforms or TikTok Shop is a strong asset
- Understanding of influencer disclosure requirements (Ad Standards Canada, FTC) and content usage rights
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with comfort managing multiple brands and priorities at once
- Passion for beauty, content, and the creator economy
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- This role includes a regular hands-on, physical component: receiving, opening, and unpacking product shipments; packing and kitting creator mailers; and preparing outbound shipments
- Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 25 lbs (11 kg) and to stand for extended periods during pack-outs and events
- Regular in-office presence in Vaughan is required to manage product inventory and pack-outs
- Travel within Canada and to the United States is required for creator events, brand activations, and industry moments, and may occasionally include evenings and weekends
- Must hold a valid passport and be able to travel to the United States
