As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Construction Safety Officer to support our safety inspection services.

The Construction Safety Officer will conduct site safety inspections and support the effective implementation of occupational health and safety requirements on municipal construction and operational sites. The successful candidate will identify hazards, document findings, communicate corrective actions, and help ensure that site activities comply with WorkSafeBC regulations, Client requirements, project-specific safety plans, and recognized industry practices.

  • Experience conducting safety inspections on construction, municipal infrastructure, civil works, utilities, or operational sites
  • Working knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act, WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, Vancouver Building By-law, applicable fire-code requirements, and construction safety practices
  • Familiarity with municipal infrastructure activities such as excavation, traffic control, confined-space work, utility construction, pumping stations, sewer systems, landfill operations, and work near the public is an asset
  • Strong hazard-recognition, report-writing, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining professional, collaborative relationships with clients, contractors, supervisors, and workers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic reporting or document-management systems
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence and the ability to travel to project sites throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland
  • Ability to work occasional early mornings, evenings, nights, or weekends based on active construction schedules
  • Current first aid, WHMIS, confined-space, fall-protection, traffic-control, or related construction safety training is an asset

Benefits

  • Do meaningful work - Deliver projects that build what communities depend on, from power and water to gas and other essential infrastructure across Western Canada
