About The Role.
The Packaging Operator is responsible for supporting efficient packaging operations by loading and adjusting packaging equipment, maintaining production flow, minimizing waste, and ensuring product quality. This role operates within a regulated manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, safety protocols, and operational procedures. The Packaging Operator plays a critical role in meeting production targets while maintaining quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.

Compensation Package: - Starting at 33.26 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts

The Packaging Operator plays a critical role in meeting production targets while maintaining quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
What You’ll Be Doing.
- Operate packaging equipment including case packers, case erectors, and case checkweighers.
- Load Wexxars with shooks and reload tapers while performing minor equipment adjustments as required.
- Complete preventative maintenance checks and support equipment changeover activities.
- Ensure all cases are accurately weighed, properly sealed, and correctly coded.
- Change date codes and maintain packaging equipment to meet production demands.
- Minimize packaging material and product waste through efficient operation and monitoring.
- Complete all required TQC/MCE procedures, check sheets, production paperwork, and data entry accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cardboard waste management, rework activities, and hand-stacking as required.
- Communicate effectively with production teams and other departments to support operational needs.
- Promptly report mechanical, operational, quality, and safety concerns.
- Support housekeeping activities and assist in other production areas as required.
- Perform all duties safely, accurately, and efficiently while following company policies and GMP requirements.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful.
- Successful completion of a 120-day familiarization period.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
- Willingness to enroll in and complete WHMIS training.
- Ability to safely use all required personal protective equipment and safety equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to make minor machine adjustments.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete required documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Satisfactory past job performance.
- Physical ability to lift, pull, push, shovel, climb, and handle materials as required.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, high humidity, dusty environments, and noisy conditions while wearing hearing protection.
- Commitment to following GMP, food safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements, including restrictions related to jewelry, personal items, and production floor attire.
