About the role

McCann is seeking a Strategy Director, Performance & Creative Integration to lead strategies that connect brand building, creative ideas and measurable business outcomes. Rooted in our Truth Well Told ethos, you will turn business, audience and cultural insight into clear strategic direction, then work with creative, media, analytics, CRM and commerce partners to bring that direction to life. You will lead client relationships, guide strategists and help grow our clients and the agency.

What you will do:

Lead strategy and creative development

Understand client business and marketing problems. Draw on consumer, cultural, category, media and performance data to find meaningful truths and opportunities.
Develop integrated strategies that connect brand objectives, customer needs, acquisition and measurable business results.
Write clear briefs and strategic narratives that inspire original creative work across channels and customer journeys.
Partner with Creative and Business Leadership to develop ideas, give constructive feedback and carry the strategic story from opportunity through execution and impact.
Stay close to digital behaviour and social conversation. Explain what people do and why it matters for the work.

Connect performance and creative

Bring creative, media, analytics, CRM and commerce teams together around shared audience insight, campaign objectives and measurement.
Shape demand generation, lead generation, customer acquisition and digital commerce strategies where they serve the client’s business.
Use campaign results to identify creative opportunities, guide versioning and personalization, and recommend what to test next.
Develop practical approaches to testing and iteration, including dynamic creative optimization where appropriate.

Lead clients and the team

Present persuasive strategic recommendations and lead confident, productive conversations with clients and internal teams.
Bring proactive thinking to client relationships, new business opportunities and agency growth.
Mentor strategists, adapt your coaching to their needs and give clear feedback that helps people and the work grow.

What you bring

At least eight years of relevant strategy experience, including agency experience and leadership of client work.
A record of turning insight into strong creative work and clear business outcomes.
Working knowledge of media, audience strategy, analytics and measurement, with experience in performance marketing, lead generation, CRM, customer acquisition or digital commerce.
The ability to decide which data matters, explain what it means and translate it into creative direction.
Strong writing, storytelling, presentation and client leadership skills.
Curiosity about culture and digital behaviour, sound judgment, and an open approach to collaboration and feedback.
Experience guiding or managing strategists and helping multidisciplinary teams work together.
