At Grain St Laurent, we buy and sell physical agricultural commodities across North America. This isn’t financial trading: you’ll learn how to buy, sell, and execute real transactions with real suppliers, customers, and shipments.

Our goal: train you to become a Grain Trader and build your own book of business.

Your Path to Trader
0–6 months | Logistics - Understand the Deal

You’ll start by learning how a transaction works from A to Z. You’ll coordinate shipments, negotiate freight, and handle issues as they come up.

This stage teaches you how freight, shipping terms, and execution directly impact pricing and margins - an essential foundation for becoming a Trader.

6–12 months | Procurement - Learn to Buy

You’ll then move into the commercial side of the business and start building your own supplier network.

You’ll prospect, develop relationships, negotiate prices and volumes, identify available inventory, and find buying opportunities to support the trading team.

This is where you’ll develop your commercial instincts and deepen your understanding of the market.

12+ months | Trader - Buy + Sell

Now, you’ll build your own book of customers while continuing to manage and grow your supplier network.

You’ll work both sides of the market: buying, selling, negotiating your margins, and managing your transactions from the first conversation all the way through delivery.

Ultimately, you own your suppliers, your customers, your deals, and your results.
