Hiring Unit:

McGill Food and Dining Services Student Housing & Hospitality Services

Under the supervision of the Executive Chef or the Chef, performs tasks related to the preparation of vegetables

Position Summary:

• Prepares all vegetables for cooking.
• Prepares all vegetables for salads.
• May assist in the preparation of some food items.
• Maintains cleanliness of vegetable preparation area, machines, etc.  Keeps all work areas clean and tidy.
• Receives and checks deliveries of supplies and stores.  Organizes the storage areas and refrigerators.  Take delivery notices to the Administration office.
• May be requested to perform other general kitchen duties, as required.
• May be called upon to perform other tasks of a similar nature not specifically itemized above.   The performance of such tasks will not affect the grading of the position.

Qualifications:

• High School Leaving Diploma.

• Three (3) months related experience.

• Good communication skills.

• Ability to read and write English and French.

Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.

Seasonal Position.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday 7h00-14h45; 38.75hours/week
