Student Ambassadors – Admissions Office at the Faculty of Law at McGill 2026-2027

The Faculty of Law’s Admissions Office is seeking to fill five part-time positions during the academic year for McGill law students. Candidates will be trained by and work with the Associate Dean (Admissions and Recruitment) and members of the Admissions Office team.

This program connects admitted and prospective candidates with current law students. Ambassadors are uniquely placed to tell applicants about the advantages of studying law at McGill. In fact, many of our current ambassadors were themselves welcomed to the McGill Law community through this program. Student Ambassadors are also invited to attend alumni events and to participate in Homecoming or other semi-formal or formal functions.

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean (Admissions and Recruitment), the student ambassador will perform duties related to the recruitment of applicants and admitted students to the BCL/JD program. As representatives of the Faculty of Law, student ambassadors share their unique perspectives as current law students regarding the application and admissions process, the transition to life as a law student, and their knowledge of what McGill’s unique program has to offer.

Résumé de la Position

Greets students and answers general inquiries about the Faculty of Law (minors, majors, and joint degree programs, student life, living in Montreal, etc.) with a positive attitude.

In collaboration with the Faculty of Law’s Communications team, participates in social media campaigns and events (e.g. Instagram, Facebook and YouTube).
In collaboration with the Faculty of Law’s Career Development Office, helps host on-campus events for prospective employers.
Supports other recruitment and yield activities and events, as needed, such as answering the phone, responding to e-mails and assisting in various administrative tasks; helping with the setting up and taking down signs, equipment, etc. during on-campus events.
The list of functions outlined above is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks which may be performed by an incumbent.

Duration of Employment: Fall 2026 – Summer 2027
