The Opportunity:
McKay Métis Contracting is seeking an experienced Maintenance Assistant must be local to Fort McMurray, AB or willing to relocate. The successful local candidate will require their own transportation.
The Role:
The Maintenance Assistant supports the maintenance department by maintaining and improving the day to day use of the Limble CMMS, tracking condition-monitoring data such as oil sample analysis, reviewing daily Samsara reports for fleet and asset health.
This is an entry level, systems and data focused role, well suited to a recent graduate with strong analytical skills and an interest in maintenance, reliability or fleet operations. Training will be provided on Limble, Samsara and oil analysis interpretation.
Responsibilities:
- Support and help administer the Limble CMMS platform, assist with asset records, work order data, PM schedules and user support for maintenance technicians
- Track, compile and trend oil sample results across equipment; flag abnormal readings and escalate to the Maintenance Lead for follow up.
- Monitor daily Samsara reports (vehicle/asset telematics, diagnostics, driver/equipment behaviour) and summarize key issues for the maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate records connecting Limble, Samsara, and oil analysis data so trends and recurring issues can be identified early.
- Prepare simple recurring reports and dashboards (e.g., oil sample trend summaries, Samsara alert logs, open work order counts) for maintenance leadership.
- Identify data gaps, missing entries, or integration issues between systems and raise them for correction.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of Limble/Samsara access, sync, or reporting issues, escalating more complex problems as needed.
- Support the wider maintenance team with document organization, filing, and administrative tasks related to system data.

What we need from you:
- A Diploma or Degree in a relevant field such as engineering, data analytics, or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience
- Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and software systems; willing to learn new platforms (Limble, Samsara) on the job.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tracking information over time.
- Good written communication skills for summarizing findings and reporting to the team.
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable working Monday to Friday in a maintenance/operations environment.
- Prior exposure to CMMS software, fleet telematics, or oil analysis is an asset but not required - training provided.
Additional Requirements:
- Satisfactory 5-year Drivers Abstract.
- Ability to access all client sites as required.
- Able to work in all weather and working site conditions.
- Successfully complete all pre-employment drug, alcohol, and physical abilities testing.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day
