Current Need
The US Oncology Network is seeking a Lead AI Solutions Engineer (Forward Deployed Engineering) to drive the identification, design, prototyping, and validation of AI-enabled solutions that address complex business and operational challenges across the organization.
This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, AI solutioning, business consulting, and innovation. The Lead AI Solutions Engineer partners directly with business leaders, operational stakeholders, clinicians, and technical teams to understand problems, shape opportunities, rapidly validate solutions through prototypes, and establish a clear path to production delivery.
As a senior technical leader, this role provides end-to-end ownership of the early solution lifecycle, influences enterprise AI adoption, drives technical direction across initiatives, and ensures validated solutions can be successfully industrialized through collaboration with engineering, architecture, security, compliance, and data teams.
What You'll Do
- Partner with business and operational leaders to understand challenges and identify opportunities.
- Lead discovery sessions and translate business needs into technology solutions.
- Design and build AI-enabled prototypes, proof of concepts, and pilot solutions.
- Apply technologies such as AI copilots, agents, RAG, intelligent search, and workflow automation.
- Evaluate solution options and recommend scalable architectures.
- Collaborate with engineering, data, security, and architecture teams to move validated solutions into production.
- Mentor engineers and contribute best practices for AI solution delivery.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, solution engineering, architecture, or technical consulting.
- Strong hands-on experience with React, Node.js, TypeScript, Python, APIs, and cloud platforms.
- Experience building enterprise applications and integrating complex systems.
- Practical experience delivering AI-powered solutions, including copilots, agents, RAG, automation, or intelligent search.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into working technical solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams and leading complex initiatives.
Preferred
- Healthcare, oncology, or clinical operations experience.
- Experience with Azure AI, Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, Salesforce, or ServiceNow.
- Experience working in regulated environments and applying Responsible AI principles.
Working Conditions
Flex & Connect work model with a requirement to be in the office two (2) days per week.
